Here I'm siding with the Altermatic dev fully though. They even came up with a convoluted system of showing a receipt to a separate donation to get access to the mod, just so it doesn't count as a purchase. Doesn't matter, locking a product behind a system that requires you to pay money or trade something you have for it is paywalling, period. Good on the Altermatic dev for saying no to that bullshit.
Still that doesn't exclude him from criticism, because from what I could see from their conversations, he does seem to have a massively inflated ego that needs toning down (although making his mods only available through his own website and discord is a dead giveaway already), refusing to talk to them and antagonizing them unless they apologize, instead of trying to solve it like functional adults

Then there's the BR bimbo modder himself who seems to want to stay away from it and not take any sides, so at least someone there does seem to have a functioning brain

Slow Sunday with little to do so I decided to indulge in my autism and try to figure the whole shebang. The whole thing seems to boil down to the BR discord's group wanting a system in Altermatic to make custom Pal skins paywalled, which the mod author doesn't want, and some time later he even claimed they want to nab his code to make their own paywalled version. Also he says the BR himself is very much involved in it and endorsed the whole thing, though I can't find anything to back it up, so either it was all deleted or he's making stuff up. What I did see though is an alleged suicide attempt inside the BR's group over the mod author harassing one of them, which honestly I'm calling bullshit on the spot, who the fuck would kill themselves over game mods? That has to be bullshit and makes me lean towards the mod author's side.

I think there's some level difference detection for some pals, at least in the early game. The deers early on, if you haven't leveled up properly, seem to ignore you and not run away, but after some levels they tend to start running away. Kinda makes me wonder if any others have this kind of gimmick.

IIRC, the first version of the game prioritized the wild pals reacting to your summoned pal instead of the player. The update after that just made wild pals ignore summoned pals entirely until battle starts. Kind of a shame. It was amusing to see how some pals decided to attack your fresh meat of a pal, ignore it or run away.

Palworld now has an in game photo mode but this mod has more functionality. Beyond that imo you don't really need any mods unless you get frustrated with certain parts that can't be helped with sandbox settings (which can be adjusted mid-game)

I have to do a Mea Culpa and confess that a few months ago I accidentally burned a cabin next to the portal near Frostallion.

I tried to recreate the cabin to the best of my abilities through some screenshots I had from the area, though I took the liberty of adding a stair to the back for easier access.

I don't know who the owner is, but your cabin is back to it's former glory...I think...

Doing it the first playthroughas you're starting out I'd say yes. If you're high level and want a specific pal a bit earlier or you're doing another run then no.

I used one. I dislike going through a game and getting attached to something that'll be rendered obsolete by lategame content, so I create a an optimized version asap and then go through the rest of the game with that one.

This sucks because frankly I hate breeding in creature catching games. I really like discovering new things in the wild and catching them, and would much rather be able to use those rather than putting together 2 things in a farm and mass producting 3 boxes of the thing with zero fanfare in a grand eugenics project (even if that's onbrand for palworld). I just wanna find the rare creature, fight and catch it, and then use it instead of looking at it's skills and shit IVs, sighing, and then scanning through my box for a suitable pair with legend, demon god, serenity and musclehead to create one.

This. If you beat every tower and raid on standard you get all rights to mess with sliders for Hard+.
In the past I would've argued for higher item drop rates for standard but the schematics table means you can reasonably get a weapon good enough for Bjorn and all the rest.
Also if you first-cleared it with a curbstomp pub in MP you did not beat the tower. (Hard mode excluded)

Yakumo sort of lets you do that. I’m thinking of only breeding Yakumo to add passives to Pals I catch. It won’t be a so-called perfect Pal but it seems like it will be pretty good. Also might hold back on condensing outside of the Yakumo themselves since the breeding produces so many anyway while I’m trying to get blue passives without breeding them down from elsewhere. Seems like a good enough passive project while I explore the rest of Sakurajima and Feybreak.

This is precisely why Pokemon games are easy by nature, because they want you to be able to use whatever you want. By making the game harder, you dilute the pool of Pokemon that you could realistically take all the way through the campaign, which many romhack devs fail to understand.
Palworld seems to understand this as well which is why there are a number of mechanics (surgery table, IV fruit, trust, etc) that let you stick with your favorites.

fishing is so good. Fun AND productive. If you're target is the pal you're fishing you can even get lucky and nab a lunker/demon god one and tack on the remaining passives with the table. But for anything else you still need to go through the process of combining all the good rainbows and then chain breeding them from the fish onto what you want. It gets easier the more you do it since you build up a stock of good material to work with on future projects, as box cloggy as it is.

I really wish we had a ditto-equivlant so I could consolidate the 3-4 main core skill setups onto a few of those along with a philanthropist one and just hyper streamline the process to be as quick and painless as possible. I could just have them as permanent residents of 4 breeding ranches and move the desired pals between them to essentially automate the process. Bad pal goes in, good pal and 116 noble sacrifices come out. Like an assembly line but for eugenics.

There are a few abandoned palboxes still pending removal, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding spots for base building. Keep in mind Global Palbox imports are disabled, if that matters to you.

After 2 weeks of learning Unreal Engine, FModel, Blender, and lots and lots of trial and error, I finally managed to make my first working Altermatic mod. So far I still haven't been able to create custom assets, and I am limited to using already existent Blender sources, but for now it's a start. The plan is to make as many variations of Pal models as possible to have the world visuals as diversified as I can.
