I am not proud to say this, but I still play CS 1.6.

You will be surprised that there are still 1,500+ daily players on this cracked version I play on 117 servers, and they are real; they say Niggers and Kikes and many other words AI can't say.
It's not just that I play matin2 sometimes (Private servers) and there are still around 14K active people in the entire servers group (official and private)
Old games hit differently, especially when you can't afford a good PC.

Team Fortress classic is still being played to this day, ignore Drippy's server, server is just low quality and the same regulars each day, i suggest you to tune in to 1999TFC and the OST server on mid-day or the night, full 24 player mayhem, it's really fun

Also worth mentioning vanilla Quake 3 is somehow played more, sadly most servers are bot filled, but the netplay is way better than Quake live for higher pings, so there's that

Also Killing Floor 1 is alive too
