You're worrying too much. Just pick a weapon that you think looks cool and go with it. As you level up you will unlock perks that will make leveling next characters faster/easier. At some point you will want to make an alt or two for stuff like aoe farming or maybe even crafting.

Resetting stats/skills is possible with cash shop, and the devs sometimes give full reset for free too. Just hop in and have fun.

If mage stack int to 255 then luk for farming build. You're better off making your farmer second though, you unlock emblems as you play that give all new characters made extra stat points and shit so you want to rush to max level ASAP by clearing MQ to unlock as much as you can, then the farmer doesn't need a ton of levels to get going with 255 luk on bwing and other good early money makers.

I noticed the enemy list tab you pulled up, I didn't know about that. When we were field boss hunting at the spring of revitalization or whatever, I couldn't target the boss cause there was a dozen of enemies around them and my teammates hitboxes are huge and kept accidentally targeting them. So I'll start using this list tab from now on.
The sonic blade skill reminds me to extend my katana tree to get a passive that will affect my halberd to instant move me within range of enemies for auto attacks. At least that's my understanding from the description.

I was about to say building a tank sounds like a miserable single player experience, but this game's mercenary system makes the single player pretty flexible.
Looking online, it looks like there's many legitimate tank builds, but everyone agrees the simplest will be a one hand sword build.

yea the main quest wont give you gear, only side quests, mainly you want to either hunt monsters that have a drop you need, where you can check a monster's drop from the map, or craft them at the blacksmith
for now though you can do the octopus battle for really nice gear at the beach, guildies are always happy to help if you want

probably worth to have some passives. Maybe fists since those scale off agi and their stun/trip/topple skills are universal. Katana passives also let you dash. There's no reason not to have another weapon equipped, even if you don't use it.

its usually a 60/40 spread on just two stats alone to maximize gains, points beyond 255 are unlocked after maxing out one stat
sub stat is highly dependent on weapon and even main skill of choice so you should see some gameplay vids for reference

the balancing in the game is fucked beyond belief and revolves entirely about dps
players get so retard overpowered that later bosses are then forced to be enormous health sponges which furthers the problem
as such the only correct way to build your character is to dump all your points into your primary damage stat and then dump all the rest of your points into your secondary damage stat
any point not invested into these are useless and wasted and will genuinely fuck you over as you advance into the later game
