There's an API called assetdelivery where you can download every version of a game if it is uncopylocked. I fear that the uncopylocked games will eventually meet the fate of being "revisited" by the ROBLOX admins once they realize that players can still play unrated experiences via this.

So I poke through public experiences by ID and iterate through all versions of the game and spit em to an external drive. From there I can parse the xml to scrape out whatever assets exist in the game or whatever else need be.

As someone else mentioned, there already exist collections like this. This method is obviously restricted to games that are uncopylocked, which is probably less than 10% of games. HOWEVER! there is another method. on archive.org, the thumbnails of games actually contain the hash that you can use to deliver the game from the servers. at least it used to be possible. it works like this from 2007 to early 2008, so people have a full collection of whatever games had a thumbnail on player profile caches, roblox.com/games.aspx main page caches, ETC.

here's that collection. it's a 1.8gb download, but mind that if you want to extract it, it's about 63GB. kinda went on a tangent there. I don't want these games to ever be lost.

Cold Front is newer with larger maps, and higher movement values. I think it was made with an emphasis on PvP (I've only tried PvE so far). The setting is cold war, and the tech progression is less of an "upgrade" and more like alterative unit types. It feels much more dynamic because of how lateral the tech progression is. Cold front also lacks navy based combat, and will probably never be added.

Original Noobs In Combat is vanilla, with what appears a bigger emphasis on PvE. Tech progression is more like direct upgrades.

Both games are being updated simultaneously, but ever since I found cold front I never went back to regular NiC.

2006 should never be lumped in with 2007, especially not 2008.

by late 2007/early 2008, I had most of the relevant GD'ers added on xfire. (for the uninitiated, GD is general discussion, which later became roblox talk)

by 2008 they had already started hacking 2006 accounts due to how rare they were. I think fluffy2007 was one of the first, then you had thanu, redsquirrel, and Luigiog who would in turn sell these accounts on xfire.

There's only about 11,000 2006 accounts and roughly half of them are alt accounts of users that already existed. I think gannonrulz, jacobxxduel and dracoswordmaster(edward yamut) combined had about 500 alts. Of those accounts that weren't alts, I think about 90% or so were users that signed up for an account, maybe played once, and then forgot about the site. there were probably less than 1000 active 2006 players at any point historically. So nah 2008ers will never be like 2006, and that is my issue with this image.

Robros, I don't think I can be an autistic roblox sperg anymore after this update. All of that history, vanished after the maturity rating restriction.

I lived on the platform for exploring the past of the roblox, seeing what crude attempts there were at mock games and laughing at them, and sometimes if you were lucky, you would find a gem or two if it worked. It's all very nostalgic to me. Stuff like that gave me a reason to revisit roblox, I don't have that reason anymore.

My asset searcher game I made was built upon my fascination with it, I still think about how great it would've been if music IDs were still publicly available so you can hear what sort of random things people uploaded to the site.

I dunno what else there is to do on this ruined platform. I might hop on the /vm/ plate here and there to help develop some stuff but I don't feel like doing much.

The event itself is always crap, but theres always 3-4 games that get invited that make an amazing contribution to it.
My concept of a good event is exactly that, that there are more events from good games instead of "join this game and play normally for the first 3 stages/levels/zones to get your reward!" and that the rewards are good enough to be used on my avatar, pic related, i use some of the rewards like the wings and the computer view from the Hunt on my mechamariel.

At first, I scoffed at your remark then decided to try out Happy thinking I was missing out. I played for around 5 minutes and that's all the gameplay I will ever get. I did enjoy the 5 minutes but I would much rather play Dandy's world (the game its based on), this is coming from someone who isn't a dandyfag.
