Depends how far your "not super far" is. If you've got good chunk of ops developed, stick with them. Even if you get some modern meta rerolling it wont get you far without investments so it will be a loose in the long run.

Drop Siege near the crossroad immediately where the first enemies appear.
Quickly drop Spot next to the 2nd lane if you have enough DP. Also drop a medic near them.
You need an Executor class operator to quickly drop on the lane down to block the Senior Casters long enough to deploy Hung on said lain. So drop Rangers and put in Gravel if you have her.
Put Platinum and Diamante near Siege and drop in Ethan.
Remember that there should be complete medic cover because the upper lane will have a Senior Caster appearing.
BTW, drop Lappland a tile further from Hung.

Everyone wants Talulah at one point to be playable.
I on the other hand want the story to reveal that she became Queen of Victoria, but instead of limiting herself to a puppet queen, she goes full queen and pushes reforms that not only makes the lives of Infected folks better, but also forcing safety regulations in factories that would at least greatly limit the number of infections. Ideally, you should've joined at or before the MonHun collab at the least, since it had one of the most busted characters in the game and gives you more than enough time to build up your roll currency, but right now is your best time. The R6S collab is one of a handful of limited events, and it also happens to have Ela, a meta character that is perfect for newbies. If you join now, or at least before 19, you can nab her and maybe even another meta character (Surtr) from the standard banner.

I've got plenty of maxed out ops - sometimes I do next to nothing because the person I'm playing with puts his ops in front of mine or he places some unit that kills everything. Other times I get the most kills.
It's a very casual thing, don't overthink it.

Like most gatchashit you can play Arknights for free if you play casually, and the free rolls will pile up over time if you're checking in regularly. Also like most mobile games I would say whether you spend or not Arknights the game is basically designed to be enjoyed for shorter sessions, like maybe an hour a day. If you'd rather sit down to a game for 6+ hour sessions then you're better off on other platforms. Good luck, friend.

This is more of a general statement than a response to that post but I really don't mind a little whaling in this. I don't go buying OP or anything but I used to pick up the occasional pack on top of the monthly card since I was aware that it was keeping me from spending money on other shit. It would be one thing if I were looking at it in a vacuum or if the gacha were as greedy as the average Mihoyo game, but with it being fairly generous, it getting regular substantial content updates, and it not requiring any attention to grind/farm it finally helped me quit playing MMOs (so far) for good and kept me from wasting my time and occasionally money on random games I didn't really care that much about. It's been a great novelty drip feed and since I started playing it's probably saved me way more money on random bullshit entertainment than I would've spent otherwise.

I just saw picrel showing that timers until fully rested are no longer shown in operator assignment. I've seen video showing that timers until zero morale are shown if you tap a working facility in the overview screen, so does it show everyone's timers until full if you select a dorm in overview in the same way?
I couldn't find a shot of that in any video about the updates and I'm trying to figure out how this affects me. I set timers for my daily base rotation based on those, so either it's visible by operator on the overview and streamlines setting timers a little, or it's gone and I should pay attention to how long they are. The latter isn't the end of the world since they're usually consistent within a few minutes but it would be nice not to have to commit the average to memory to stay accurate.

He's pretty cool from what I've seen and tried. I still need to see what s3m3 does for me since I cleared the story stages while he was in training but I might keep running Abyssal Hunters for the EX stages just for shits.
Haven't messed with s2 yet but I could see it being something I use in an AFK deploy or something depending on how the numbers measure up to alternatives.

S2 turns him permanently for the rest of the stage into a rapidly regenerating tank with his health massively increased after he charges it up.
That's pretty good. It also increases his damage. So if you want this to work well at level 3, you should max him out to level 90.

There's something extremely comfy about getting events like Hortus or this during December.
The gimmicks are easygoing and quite pleasant to mess around, the music and the vibe hit the right spot and 6* males with funcore kits.
All while it's nice outside and I have all the day to enjoy myself with the game.
Too bad both are quite short, I still have to start RA2 and couldn't care less about Pepe and co.

Yeah, I didn't realize they'd already added baby mode. I saw something showing that I could get away with doing the bare minimum to unlock a certain craft that just takes a little wood, harvest a shitton of wood, and basically just keep a save where I can craft the giant stockpile of wood into a million of the item, advance time so it cashes out points, then reload that earlier save so I can do it again. It should streamline the hell out of that process not having timed raid pressure.
I dunno, maybe once I got a better feel for what I'm doing I'd want to go back and try actually playing it legit but if I'm being honest I'd probably just keep bouncing off it so long as resource gathering is tedious.

Goldenglow is very good.
She can be used to attack targets all over the stage, which is pretty powerful in some stages, with one skill, or as a great damage-dealer after charging up her powers with another skill.

Our daughter's new L2D outfit is pretty good.

Arknights and most mobile games are total shit to be honest. I initiated my account deletion today and in a few weeks the account will be gone. I've come to realize the game's a horrible skinner box and I've now reached the point where even ISW isn't fun anymore, due to how everything in AK and the mode is designed. I am sick of not having all characters available and even the ones I do have and are "maxed" aren't fully reinforced yet.

Had already forgotten about Endfail. Friend talked about the beta/whatever test last year, when you could sign up for it. All I remember is that a lot of the beloved characters are dead in that game, so what's the point? Again, chinks don't learn. No, true. I forgot the numbers, but compared to something like Azur Lane you get around 1/3 the pulls, at most. On Slop Lane you get roughly 25-30 pulls a week (50-60 cubes) from everything including event rewards, comms, etc.
On AK you're barely scraping by most of the time. The only time you get a decent amount of currency is during those special events, like the anni and half anni, with often a full pull+ a day in currency alone and a free pull on a banner.
I've played AK for about 16 months and I've simply had enough. I am not a loser and will save up for 1 big pull every 6/12 months like I'm a peasant. On AL I've been pulling on every banner at least 50 times, often 60-70, and I had no issues affording that past an initial saving and screwing up period of around 3~ months after I started playing that game. In several years I've only ever missed out on about 8 characters, and 5-6 of those where from that initial period. The other 3 I've missed out on because I was either too low for comfort or couldn't be asked to drop another 100 cubes for potentially nothing. Very rarely I'd get very unlucky on that game, and very rarely I'd get very lucky. Most of my time I'd get average luck, as one you'd expect. And average luck isn't an issue when you get about 25 pulls a week and rates are 7% + 2% most of the time, as AL revolves around SRs which are 7% and 2% rate up. So not only do you get more pulls in AL, you have way better chances as well. 9% as UR characters are rare to get added. Even then URs are 2.4%. I don't care about FGO and its 0.0000000007% rates.

Exactly. They try to gaslight people into thinking loyalty is rewarded, like via those "thank you for your continuous love for AK!" mails you sometimes get, where they'll give you a few random materials and 1/3 of a single pull in currency. Best thing is that all mail you get has an expiry date. So much for "loyalty". The amount of extra currencies and ways to level and whatever is beyond infuriating.
Also regarding me glazing Azur Lane, as much I think the gacha is way better than what AK has to offer, it's still shitty gacha in the end and AL has by far the worse gameplay. AL is a waifu collector in the end and the whole way the dock works is gay. Dock space being limited is semi-okay, but there being no temporary holding dock for sortieing and the gacha pulls is stupid. I always keep 100-200 slots free just to not have to worry about cleaning things out every other battle. What kept me around with AL was shitposting in global chat. It kept me "playing" and spending. What kept me around with AK was ISW, but it has reached the point now where I simply don't have fun anymore and I am more so annoyed at how I am limited in how and with whom I can play. I don't like the stupid The Sands mode, I don't like the stupid VN or anything else. I genuinely hope some guy will make another private, updated client of AK one day so I can go back to playing ISW how it was intended to be played.

Obviously it's pure greed. And the saddest thing is to think about the devs. I'd like to imagine that a lot of them despise the game they've made, as it's gacha shit that'll never live up to what it could've been. Yeah, it seems that every other 6* that releases now is a walking fortress. Shu is a great example of a defender which is entirely busted. Tons of healing and other buffs while no downside to the block count or other things. Meanwhile operators like Aurora still exist for some fucking reason. A character which is entirely useless on her own and is still outclasses by other 5*s even when she has a proper setup w/ support.
I liked using non-6* characters, but the game heavily pushes you towards them where you'll eventually have to give in and start using them. 6*s have next to no downsides. They're the de facto operators to play with. It would've been better to just have "regular" characters and then "special" characters, where 6* = special and everything else = regular. But this way you're almost being actively punished for trying to use 5* ops at all. You're better off never using them and just sticking to the 6* slop and the few decent 4* characters there are.

the red one tablet don't need to be played on the bench to activate if they're maxed out. buy all three and then end the round without playing it.
same goes for the stage two tablet of that type, max that and don't play it. stage 3 does require being played but wait before playing it until you actually need the points to progress to the next round.

How do you guys like IS5? I think it's pretty fun. I know it doesn't really count since I took Wis'adel as a starter, but I'm still pretty shocked that I got a clear on my first attempt going in totally blind. Maybe I just got lucky in what stages and midboss I got, but it feels to me like it's way more flexible in who you take, while in IS4 I think I eventually came to regret it on any run where I didn't have Reed Alter either as a starter or as a fairly early build.
Who are you using for starters? I'd rather leave Wis'adel benched so I'm not just letting one op carry everything but there must be some really strong picks since free 4* and cheaper 5* ops opens it up so much.

Finally I got all the medals from Jess's event rerun.
Couldn't get all of them since Flint was beyond terrifying.
All I needed is Ulpian, Lumen, Eyja Alter and Shu to keep healing the hell out of Ulpian and to un-stun him.
Ascalon also helped by hitting the heat generators. Also managed to get the trimmed version of the medal for beating him in both his phases. And each one I defeated while he was under the effects of the heat.

I didn't know this is a thing now. I never touched support outside of doing CC medal. Now to answer my own question it looks like the triangle are special mark for operator that have M3 on all of their skills.

That's a recent addition from whenever they updated base stuff. It shows when you have all skills on a support op at m3. So in picrel Canta/Jaye/Rafaela are m6, both Virtuosas and the first Wis'adel are m9.
And yeah, you can switch skills and modules on any operator as of the same patch. It was a godsend because I didn't have the 4-block module on my Hoshi or Nian and desperately wanted it for a couple stages last event.

Bastion maps are unnecessarily big and don't have zoom out/minimap. It's the same problem with RA. Also my phone lagged hard on the last 2 waves on that map with burning reed. Even though I don't have the enemies and burning reeds within view it's still lagging hard.

The last hell stage 15-4 was indeed brutal.
Had to use Shu, Logos and Ela to cheese my way through this. Hell, I had to use Wis, Ray, Surtr, Mudrock and Lupisfoglia to get through this stage. That and add to this three other Sui siblings to activate Shu's talent that generates one SP per couple of seconds for all operators with Yu boosting Logos with his S3.
It was still brutal but managed to win this hellish stage.

Exu Alter is pretty powerful (and her S2 will be stupidly useful later in the game's lifecycle).
Lemu on the other hand is with her S3 similar to Firewatch (but with locking on to enemies).

Pramanix has one of those gimmicks that sounds broken on paper but probably isn't that useful or good in practice.

The ice has an hp bar and I'd wager it takes time to refresh. So in the places where you'd most value leveraging turning the goals into tanks that can block enemies like high risk cc won't work that well because the types of enemies you'd want to stall will kill the blocks in one or two attacks and leak.
Silverash looks interesting but I think we'll have to wait and see what he does in practice. could be the most op bullshit ever or he could be kind of mid, I could see him ending up either way right now.
