I use Klick'r, previously called, smart autoclicker, I got it years ago on fdroid but I think it's also on google play now, it has a bit of a learning curve because it works based on screencaps, rather than time like the rest of those apps, so it's more efficient and virtually undetected, not that nintendo actually cares about that, at least for this game.
It comes with a tutorial to learn how to create scenarios to set the autoclicker to work.

Giant banana drivers are the key, I went with riverside park t using the autoclicker, with wiggler suit, it doesn't get that many hits for being only a 4 item boxes track, but it's so short, it's more efficient than using the piranha plant slides, which can get you more hits but can take up to 3 times longer

I avoid those pipes entirely unless I'm in a boomerang frenzy. My driver is DK Gladiator (>>1617607). Usually take the shortest inside path while trying to make mini turbos.
It is hard as hell to hold combo on this track, so I just had to grind it until I got a chance to boombox.
Giant banana could also work if you got the frenzies at the right times.

Chain Chomp Mii was useful for me the first time around the loop. But recently I haven't been using it as much since it's blocked by some newer drivers.
Waluigi Vampire has funny animation, and his bobomb cannon skill is useful for Bomb Days in multiplayer.
White Birdo keeps showing up in pipes, but is rarely useful.

Yearly Xmas gift to Rosalina: All now at Lv7 minimum (16 tickets spent). In 2023, I took them to Lv6.
Halloween is a personal favorite as my first high end driver. Fire is most useful in ranked.
Chef and Swimwear are strong ACR drivers.
Volendam and Aurora are beautiful designs, but not seen much outside their feature tours. Tanooki and Cat show up in pipes a lot, but are not heavily used. Tanooki is fun in multiplayer.

They're both pretty good drivers, but I'll vote for Roaring Racer Mii. It has a decent string of ranked uses in the next 3 months, mostly on tracks with gaps where Dash Ring skill helps hold combo.
Poochy is a Top 10 ranked driver (>>1634613) in number of ranked tracks, so if you're a newer player you may be better off with him as a year-round option.

3. Gold Cupid's Arrow: (Lv1/0c -> Lv6/1c) Fills ACR gap for this tour on Singapore T. Will upgrade/unlock to Lv8 over Dragonfly (because I hate it) for Wii Daisy Circuit R/T in the Princess Tour (May-June). Also usable for Rome Avanti 1N in the Night Tour (June-July).
4. Gold Warrior Wagon: (Lv2/0c -> Lv6/1c) Fills ACR gap on Tokyo 2T. Will upgrade to Lv7 over Dragonfly for Wii Daisy Circuit 1N in Princess Tour, and substitute for super Blue Seven kart on N64 Mario Raceway 1N in the Mario vs. Luigi Tour (June).
5. Wonderful Diamond: (Lv1/0c -> Lv6/1c) ACR option for Singapore 3T, and helped me clear my token pipe with lightning skill. Very useful glider. Fills a gap on Lakeside Park T in the Sunshine Tour (July - August), where I was using the super Oilpaper Umbrella.
Only 1 glider gap remains for ranked on my account: Piranha Plant Cove 3R/T in the Mii Tour (May), where I'm using the normal Piranha Plant Parafoil. Leaning toward Wario Mustache (for lightning skill), but still haven't decided.

Agreed; can't go wrong with a coinboxer. Just be aware that King Mario is not in ranked top shelf very much for a while (see >>1643738). His prime time is in the late summer / early fall.
Other choices: Rainbow Pipe Buggy is on the 50 top karts list (see >>1634613). 8-bit Block Glider is also a top 50 glider on the same list, along with the 8-bit Super Gilder which is a little lower.
Collecting the discounted 70 ruby Miis is also a good idea, but as a beginner it is recommended to achieve overall top shelf D/K/G coverage first. Use regular high end top skill drivers (coinbox / boomerang / lucky 7 / banana) to stack the top shelf and use Miis just to fill driver coverage gaps.
It takes about 15-20 each of D/K/G to get full ranked loop coverage.

A little late to be asking, but is there any strategy to MC 1 R/T? You can either use the ramp at the beginning and catch a lot of glide time from the pipes, or go under it and pick up the coins. Is one higher point potential, or are you supposed to take the ramp 1st lap but not 2nd, etc?

It depends on the driver.
If you're coinboxing with King Mario or Gold Koopa, it's usually better to stay on the ground to pick up the coins. Same idea with Gold Mario. But you can still do good with a mixed air/ground strategy if you can get down fast enough and knock out some pipes and cones.
But if you're dropping bananas with White Tanooki Mario, it's almost always better to stay in the air to avoid leftover banana crashes.

Carlos has 80 Lv8 high end drivers! It looks like a lot of the non-Mii's are just unwanted things that he kept getting in pipes but never uses.
As you mentioned, I'm surprised he's not invested in either Astro Toad, Wiggler, or Toad Tourist for Luigi Raceway R/T. However, Pink and Purple Mii suits are useful for the hard-to-cover GBA Peach Circuit R/T in ranked for the Vacation Tour, as mentioned above (>>1643732). If Carlos pushes me hard enough, I might be tempted to pick a Mii over Astro Toad and dump a bunch of tickets on it.

Like a lot of top players, Carlos is not a big multiplayer fan.

The overlap tracks with MKT include Airship Fortress, Wario Shipyard, Sky-High Sundae, DK Pass, Koopa Troopa Beach, Shy Guy Bazaar, Choco Mountain, SNES Mario Circuit, Bowser's Castle, and Dino Dino Jungle.
Only Sky-High Sundae was an original Tour track. Wish that Ninja Hideaway, Merry Mountain, and Piranha Plant Cove would carry over to MKW. Also some of the MKT city tracks were awesome, especially Singapore, Bangkok, and Vancouver. But Real World doesn't fit into Mario Kart World.

I like the Mii Tour, but I have an issue with the availability of mii suits in this tour; even though the tour makes it a point to make you use miis, only 11 miis total are available in the shop, with the Morton mii being the only truly strong mii for newer players; the rest of the miis all suck with bad items or bad coverage, not every mii is discounted despite this being the Mii Tour, the 3 discounted miis are especially bad coverage-wise, only these miis are available at all in the tour, and there’s no free mii suit available for everyone to get at all unlike the original 2022 Mii Tour where Luigi and Toad miis could be gotten for free to help people get started

That's interesting! Standard ranked matchups for T99 players seem to be 3 other T99's and a standard list of players below T99.
The 3 T99 opponents are usually slightly weaker, but every 2-3 months they'll give you a stronger T99 to push you to spend a little.

I'm starting to level up more Lv7 ACR karts and gliders. Prop Kart (ACR), Sports Coupe 2022 (ACR), and Gold Warrior Wagon (ranked) already went to Lv8 this week. Wonderful Diamond glider needs to go Lv6->Lv8 for ranked later this summer, and then I am completely Lv8 for loop mode karts and gliders. Update / Good News: I think that I can beat the Top 100 opponent if I spend tickets and regrind Moonview Highway.
The opponent (TL:Yu-kun) does not have any high end top shelf drivers on Rome Avanti higher than Lv5. Maybe he's staying with plain super DK.
Yu-kun has 56 ACR ranked badges, with 12 of those being Top 100. None of his Top 100 badges are from Night Tour (badge = DK Gladiator).

Finally made it to 78 and going to burn my small amount of tickets to try to make it to 79. I'd rather max out Wiggler Mii but think I'm going to dump my tickets into DK Gladiator because he has 3 ranked tracks this tour. Chain Chomp Chariot this tour and Gold Pipes next tour are both great karts, but if you can wait and/ot haven’t upgraded them yet, the Monarch Kart and Black B Dasher Mk 2 from the anniversary are among the best karts in the game

I went for top 100 last year and I'm doing it again this tour and I noticed the yeehaw wagon was super useful down the line for ranked in general, and for acr the night tour, while also being a chungus kart.
I think for ranked it's useful for rome 2T and rome r/t at level 6.

I finally started upgrading my Pink Mii (now Lv4/1u) to prepare for Vacation Tour next month.
I discovered that heart skill is OP for multiplayer races on days with item restrictions, like today. Thanks to my friends for teaching me the hard way with their swarm of Pink Shy Guys.
Pink Mii helped me regain S+9 rank in Races and nearly fill my challenge card today.

Okay I’m conflicted, I have decent loadouts in this tour and Toolbox tells me that my max possible is 2.7 million, taking things optimistically that’ll be 2.4 to 2.5 million at best for me. Should I try to go for my first ACR badge? I have time this tour and decent loadouts and the current projection says 2.143 million for top 1000
But last year, 2.113 million was the lowest in the top 1000 and the trend is that ACR scores increase every year, I’m really not sure if I have what it takes to make the top 1000
And also, my loadouts for Dino Dino the Kalimaris are not strong because those have barely any “good” loop-era karts and gliders and I started the game too late to have the early karts and gliders leveled enough, that’s another concern

Assuming none of the new items are free, the best (and most likely) case is discounts for 2 drivers at 105 rubies and 4 karts at 70 rubies.
(2*105) + (4*70) = 210 + 280 = 490 rubies.
The worst case would be full price for both the drivers and karts.
(2*150) + (4*100) = 300 + 400 = 700 rubies.
Reminder that next tour, like most tours (>>1703424) already has rewards that only appear once per year. Sunshine Tour has the Yellow Yoshi driver and kart (>>1752441).

Another worst case:
1. The 4 new karts are overpowered in scoring potential like the Miis are for drivers. Maybe they are extremely big, agile, unstoppable, or draw coins like Gold Mario. The preview was careful not to show any hints.
2. 52 weeks per year * 3 ranked tracks/week = 156 ranked tracks per year. Actually fewer because some of them repeat.
3. 156 tracks / 4 = 39
4. Top high end karts have at least 30-40 total tracks. So it's possible that the 4 new karts will totally cover all of the ranked tracks. (e.g. Blazing Eagle kart has 54 tracks with unlocks.)
5. Next year will be another rat race to accumulate kart level and cap tickets to compete at the top level of ranked and ACR.

Would it be prudent to derank in case some of the new items are locked behind rank rewards like Gold Metal Mario was? The hope being that deranking leads to less stiff competition. Or does it make no difference and I could just go all out and have the same chance of obtaining the new items?

Currently rank 67, I've been hovering around 65 for a while, deranking during weeks where I didn't care for the rewards with the aim of having a less stressful time during weeks where I wished to obtain them. Grabbing more Wiggler is always useful to me, but I got him last week already and it's not like I absolutely need another right now to push him to the next level.

I used to do that back during the first year of the loop too, and you technically don’t need another Wiggler. But doing this does mean it’ll take longer for you to hit T80 and you’ll miss the tickets from ranked, Wiggler is a good driver too so the free level up is a good thing
We don’t know if the ranked rewards for next tour will change, though, there’s no precedent for ranked rewards being changed anywhere in the loop but this is the first (and only?) time new stuff is being added in the loop

The reason why they might’ve held back on the new stuff until Sunshine could’ve been because of the Nintendo pop-up store in Singapore and the associated discounts on the paid banners that happened, perhaps they were waiting for the discount period to end before adding the new items to the game so the regions that got the discounts don’t get an unfair advantage by being able to buy them for cheaper, if any of them are paywalled
But if true, this could also mean that one or more of the new items might be paywalled…

Finishing at 2.353 million for ACR, this should be safe and I’m happy with the effort I put in, not sure if I’ll ever go for ACR again tho
