Tribe Nine
3D ARPG with baseball "mini-game" from the trio that created Danganronpa (Kodaka/Komatsuzaki/Takada) and Uchikoshi (Zero Escape creator). Launches in a few hours for iOS, Android, and PC (Steam). Anyone trying this out?

people were raging at the open beta, although in that a lot of enemies/bosses could just straight up 1 shot you especially depending on tension level, and there also wasn't a dedicated counterattack skill for every character. They tuned down enemy damage in official release though, and now every character has a dedicated counterattack skill.

I guess there's not much interest in datamining for this game since I haven't seen anyone post anything, even when Mita was in the beta files. Bit weird since it's Unity and a lot is unencrypted.

There's nothing super interesting but here's a couple things:
Chapter 3 is in Akihabara. If you're unaware, the third city is supposed to be out "shortly after release," with the planned schedule being a city every 3 months afterwards.
Possibly has 5 playable characters based on the profile badges (the 3 in the OP are on some tension cards already)
There's a chunk of art assets for Minato vs Chiyoda, might happen in-game as a way to recap the anime.
Arisugawa's tension card is the only one that has different art for the party menu slots. It was like that in the beta assets, too.
A lot of character icons got scrubbed for the full release, the 5 here being some of them.
There are a lot of totally wild and baseless assumptions you could make based on internal character IDs.

Honestly, i would go back to Danganronpa games if they stuck with this style of models. Like they really drive home the exaggerated expressions and movements for each character, and they look so clean. I think my only gripe so far is that (yeah its gacha) and that they somehow made Zero into Monokuma v.8, like literally managed to turn him into an animal mascot for no real reason after his real introduction. Yeah, her build is dependent on your team. If you have a second character that can heal, you spec into her passive 2 instead since it buffs her damage through the skybox.
If you don't have a secondary healer like Yo (seriously, his passive 2 is so good, only needs 1 point), or a team that doesn't really need heals (Roku and a second ranged), then you mostly level her normal attack and put leftover points into her passive 1.

[Important] End of Service Announcement

Thank you for your continued support of TRIBE NINE.

We regret to inform you that service for TRIBE NINE will be terminated on November 27th, 2025 JST.

Since the game's launch, the development and operations teams have strived to provide excellent service and improve player experience. However, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end the game's service.

Unfortunately, this also means we are unable to deliver Ch. 4 of the story, which we had previously announced.
We apologize for the sudden nature of this announcement to all our players.

Information regarding the service termination schedule and any related procedures will be made through in-game notices and on the official website.

Games like this tend to either get a reboot at some point, or they take whatever they've created and build a normal game, and be it a cash grab, on it.

It's not doing an eos because it's not longer generating enough money. It extremely likely never got into earning anything to begin with, with such an early eos move. Trying to earn some money out of already created stuff is the usual procedure then, if it doesn't fully bankrupt the company in question.

That's just an assumption, we will never know, but given many games survive with less revenue and the CEO himself said they were gonna EOS, as well as game completely cancelling all future content even when it's finished with no campaign at all until november could hint at an unexpected situation that forcefully had them have to EOS, like for example Tookyo games getting the license of the game (this is my personal theory with everything going on with the hundred line) for a relaunch

The Love Live game eosed essentially before launch for a reason. It didn't bomb. It didn't have terrible sales or anything of that sort. Companies were just companies and shit happened before any sales even mattered.

This game may have had a terrible launch, but so damn many gacha did and they recovered. The Atelier gacha (dead in Global because TK fucking sucks, but alive in JP) or the Wizardry Gacha come to mind. They had AWFUL launches, respectively.
The Atelier gacha was expensive as fuck, greedy on rolls and had no real pity or anything of that sorts, they had to damage control extremely hard. I gave it 6 months, but it's still here.
The Wizardry Gacha had to delay any new content and essentially just do bug fixes and whatnot for well over a month post launch, because basically nobody could play the game in a reasonable way.

Post EOS it's easy to say "well, yeah, the launch sucked" but I've seen that a lot, and the games lasted much longer regardless.

I don't even know who they were trying to placate with almost every decision they made, desu. Whales were set for the next few banners (and with how fucking slow banners came out, that's bad for charts), poorfags also got two banner's worth of getting the 3 star character. I really do wish the suits gave the game more of a fighting chance.
Then again, looking at the rest of Akatsuki's track record, pulling the plug when it's not another Dokkan is the norm. It's in my best interest to make Kaijufags aware that the game will EoS if it doesn't hit Dokkan numbers day 1.

>Jio dies no longer has feelings for Miu
>No longer will cook for Miu
>Q realizes that he no longer has his memories as Ojiro
>The it's a "Game" "Continues" "Extra Lives" and "Memories can be regained" is very much plausible as discussed on Chapter 5 and the important XB match.

Some key notes here.

1. Dust is the boss form of Akutagawa which is something i forgot because it's mostly text and I kept forgetting he has a beast form.
2. Lapus Pazuli is Ruriiro as is old blue pond(it's translated literal sadly)
3. Black Midday is Yo. Sometimes the text will say "YOU" when it's just them talking about Yo.
Akihabara Daisy is Hinagiku
4. Falling In Love is Hiyori or Yayoi again Japanese is translated literal.
5. Zio is basically JIO
6. Oujiro is Ojiro

Anytime you see /Communication it most likely means using COMS like device communication. /Reminiscence is a flashback scene etc this is to indicate what is happening in the scene. This is just notes for fellow Translators or those wishing to archive everything.

Main Story Chapter 4 "Shinjuku" City Story XB Scenario

The whole match basically revolves around exposing that despite multiple Ruriiro’s existing there is slight differences to each one such as eye-shadow, feelings, mannerisms. She keeps denying this and says they think the same or alike. This is to find out who the real Ruriiro is. Turns out it is Rumi who used to work in the Hostess Club with Hikaru, Yayoi, and Hiyori as a Maid.

Akutagawa aka Pro Wrestler guy aka Dust then walks in pushes Hikaru and others who were nearby grabs Rumi by the neck and then murders her through strangling. Space Lasers activate, and Akutagawa is still standing after taking a hit from it. Everyone is trying to fight Akutagawa but are shoved away including Yo. Yo picks up Sui’s beam bat, and begins to fight DUST aka Akutagawa as an actual Boss Fight similar to Sui. Once Yo has won Akutagawa then is zapped and vaporized.

>Hikaru goes with Yo and crew to Taito.
>Theme for Taito is the one with the most valueable possessions becomes the champion of Taito
>Everyone is a merchant essentially
>Akutagawa treats humans as a commodity
>In order to win you would need possessions more valueable than human life as rules setup by Akutagawa Number 2! Who is STILL Alive despite being zapped and dead.
>There is a theory that if they find out how Yo, Akutagawa, came back to life, they can learn about Jio.
>Q asks what they mean about Jio
>Yo says Jio has been acting strange and ever since he himself died once, he felt like something important was missing.
>A woman murders some people
>They manage to find her and ask how she was able to avoid killing
>She reveals her name as Asagao and says the Town is full of "Fakes" she even mentions how Sakura Hanafuda is a "Fake" as well
>Yo and the others feel uncomfortable after speaking with Asagao and wonder why Ueno left the NINE App.
>Ueno admits he has died once protecting Sakura Hanafuda when Taito was under the rule of Akutagawa who quickly grew in the high ranking position
>Akutagawa was stabbed but came back to life
>Ueno does not remember Taito Tribe, he remembers everything else, but not Taito Tribe.
>Miu notices a theme in this story, that everyone who has died and come back to life has LOST SOMETHING.
>Jio has changed, he is very distant, he no longer has feelings for Miu
>Once you die you lose something important
>Q asks if Jio remembers using Salt in his cooking
>Miu mentions she does not know, and Jio may never cook for her again
>Q mentions that he may have died once
>He does not know of this "Ojiro" anyone mentions
>If Jio lost his feelings for Miu, then Q may have lost his own memories of being Ojiro and that of Kazuki.

>Tookyogames survives because The Hundred Line actually sold well.
If I am Akatsuki I would make a full game and sell it for 100$ or try to redo the whole thing as a reboot and make it more Gacha focused. Because their bet went against them.

Kodaka, Shuhei Yamaguchi (the executive in Akatsuki that greenlit Tribe Nine I think), and Katsunori Suginaka made a doujin circle Neo Neon Tribe to continue Tribe Nine's story. I think so as well. This is most likely two things.
1. To create goodwill on what happened with Tribe Nine because they know Kaiju No.8 is going to die and they do not have anything else other than Dragon Ball to save them, when that money dries up then goodwill is over.
2. Kodaka made a deal in which they do not get any money, but most likely this also means if it finishes up it can then be readapted as a Game, or a Gacha when the time is right. Akatsuki might be able to consider asking Investors for another chance on Tribe Nine because the story is finished, scenarios are done, music is finished and basically all they would need to do is model the characters and kind of just make it into a game.

I don't think they can do anything with the IP commercially since it still belongs to Akatsuki. I want to believe that the three dudes who formed Neo Neon Tribe really just want to give closure to a project they worked on and the fans who followed it. It's really in line with that Yamaguchi guy's character from the shit he's doing on twitter, he gave a completely unrelated hachinai (his previous gacha project at Akatsuki) fan a wedding message because the fan asked. I find Tribe Nine's EOSing bizarre; why announce EOS so soon if you need to keep the servers online until the end of the year? Even if you're not making any money, at least try to safe face by updating the game with everything Chapter 3 related because that would give you another month or 2 in data to justify the EOS announcement, making it sting a little less. besides, all the work on Chapter 3 should have been done anyway.

Gameplaywise, I think the original scope was one city map for each Numbers + the 24 city map for Zero. The other sixteen cities that didn't have a Numbers were only if the game successful enough. I'm still shocked that there was no one in the Tookyo room to tell him, "Just because you can make 100 endings doesn't mean you should."

>one city map for each Numbers + the 24 city map for Zero
I get that the 24 city thing is the number of districts in Tokyo but why open with there being 24 cities if the initial outline for 8/9 cities + the final chapter, whatever that entails? I know when I was playing Tribe Nine I didn't think that beating the 9 would lead to the end because I knew a over a dozen cities were unexplored. It felt like the kind of story that could be extended on the writers' whims. Curious to see how long they play make the story, and if all cities will be incorporated somehow.

>I find Tribe Nine's EOSing bizarre; why announce EOS so soon if you need to keep the servers online until the end of the year?
I am going to take a wild guess and say it's because Akatsuki Games feared Tookyogames was going to go bankrupt and that would lead to complicated issues with licensing if Tookyogames died and Akatsuki was still alive and cause Tribe Nine to die early. The Hundred Line sells so well that basically Kodaka does not need to worry much about Bankruptcy(but he still needs sells and merchandise sells obviously). Now that it's no longer an issue, Akatsuki Games basically allowed Kodaka to have the IP Permission to write and finish the story.
>Even if you're not making any money, at least try to safe face by updating the game with everything Chapter 3 related because that would give you another month or 2 in data to justify the EOS announcement, making it sting a little less. besides, all the work on Chapter 3 should have been done anyway.
See this is what I think as well but I am going to take a wild guess and say the nosedive was so bad, Akatsuki cut their losses rather than pushing through and trying to at least give the 6 months needed to give them a chance to come back. It was dumb to prematurely end Tribe Nine, and to assume Tookyogames would go under, and to basically just panic from investors. But at least they are trying to redeem themselves on it.

I am going to assume this is the case. Most likely it might be that if Neoneon Circle finishes everything and fleshes out the world more it can be easy for it to be a game or something because the story, music etc is finished all that is left is to basically put the pieces in place and create the world.
>I'd pay for a game version of Tribe Nine that had paid chapters every 6 or so months. I'm sure removing the gacha elements and retention strategies would make the game better, but it is a risk. Same. I do hope there is a way we can support it, or some way we can keep it going to generate excitement so Akatsuki turns it into a Game as it keeps going. Because would it not be amazing to see Neoneon Circle make a great quality story, and then to hear it will be adapted into an Anime that then goes into a Game? That would be exciting.

I think the fact that the Characters are very likable and familiar with those who like Danganronpa including the Artist, Musician, while also having great writers behind it helped a lot. I do think it became very weird based on the premise that somehow when you die you come back but not as the same person you once were. Chapter 3 was absolutely amazing in that respect. Even in Chapter 5 I still wish to know more. But I do agree it was starting to get off the rails a bit. Which makes sense to get Kodaka to try and help finish the whole thing and to keep it more interesting and consistent.
>I'm still shocked that there was no one in the Tookyo room to tell him, "Just because you can make 100 endings doesn't mean you should
Honestly I agree. But I think he should have went into the Multiverse route. Not Stories within Stories.

Possibly so they can bring in characters with different themes without committing to making an entirely new map. The maps in the game suprisingly referenced a lot of the city they're based on which means extra work for the dev team if they did decide to commit. It's also easier to leave the possibility open from the start then slowly close them off later on in the story if they decide not to go through with the extra cities

It sounds like the suits at Akatsuki were involved in the entire thing, causing it to fail; from removing all currency from the game, to shuttering it prematurely. Still rather shocking how the game fell off a cliff and never recovered when the changed the reward structure. Was it seen as a cheap ZZZ copy? Regardless, based on Kodaka's actions, it's clear that Tookyo games pitched this project but needed someone to fund it; it also explains why Akatsuki is willing to allow Kodaka and co. to work on it.

>>1801122
I can't imagine that they'd get funding to continue and complete Tribe Nine as it is, it makes more sense that they take the assets from T9 and make a VN, because it's Kodaka's bread and butter.

>>1801133
>the Characters are very likable
I thought they were okay, nothing special. I don't think I have a favourite based on the writing because I found it focused more on world building, rather than character development; we did see some character development creep in but it wasn't much. What happened to Q was both very interesting for the implication to the overall machinations of the overall story and infuriating because it reverted any character development Q had.
>I do think it became very weird based on the premise that somehow when you die you come back but not as the same person you once were.
Seems more central to the story than 100L but 100L had the same mystery regarding that but it didn't do too much with it. I do think it would play a big role but I am still extremely sceptical about it because I think that's where the nonsense will come in to ruin the setup.

>>1801138
I guess the story could continue after beating Zero to quell any rebellions or to fix the cities, kinda like what was meant to be happening to the first city from the last "event" we had. I would live liked to go fix and pick up the rubbish myself to improve the city but w/e that's in the past now.

I feel the same. It's mostly females, but man why do the character designs feel like they are trying to aim for the Mihoyo audience? Is painfully obvious the Character designer is good but it's like corpo office was saying "No we need more Male designs and the animations need to be like ZZZ"
