First off this game was for Mobile originally and got a PC Client later. MMO players like Character Creation. You don't create a character in this game. You used an existing present you can change hair styles and color but not body types i.e. you can't be a Female Zerker. That's Strike 1 in a lot of cases 2 Strikes for MMO players.

Games is instance based like a 2010s games in an era where open world is the highest selling point in MMOs and Gacha. That's another Strike.

Final Strike being these type of high speed action games are always niche. No one plays them ever. Punishing Grey Raven is not a popular game. DMC Mobile died in less than a year. It's P2W if you want to progress to endgame faster, like with almost any other MMO or gacha.
The 1v1 and 3v3 PVP is actually balanced since you aren't using PVE gear there so everyone is more or less on an even playing field regardless of how much is spent.
The main P2W thing would be pets, as there is a pet only obtainable via top-off milestone that gives stats. This may make/break for a lot of people and I wouldn't blame them but for casual players I don't think it's something you'd ever need to care about.

The way you farm rolls as a F2P is to farm gold and sell that gold on the marketplace to whales amassing it to enhance their whale gear.

For reference, on launch gold was selling at an average of 300 gems per 1 mil. Now it is around 470 gems per 1 mil and will probably continue to climb as more and more whales start enhancing their gear.

This is also why having alts is good because it's more sources to farm gold and the more gold you earn the more gems you can trade with it. For this reason I do consider the game F2P outside of just the PVP portions because F2P can unlock "p2w" skins and pets from just selling gold without needing to wait months for it if they play alts.

Meanwhile in terms of content pretty much everything is more than doable with full sets of farmable golds and +15 which is where F2P should stop at.

I'm asking since the weapon took me many more summons than the costumes. I rerolled around 15 times to get the title with each roll doing 4 costume summons + 10 pet summons so it took around 60 summons to get the title. weapon took me 45 or so since it was the next highest power spike. when i switched to the outfit I got 5 pieces (the 4 im wearing + 1 dupe) and the highest i ever went before getting an S was 17/60 summons. I switched to single summons after noticing I was getting costumes really early in pity. But basically I got the full costume set in under $30 with the first time purchase bonus.

All the items share the same pity so either I was incredibly lucky on the outfit parts, or they have a higher rate in general and if they do, you should never switch your pity to costume pieces and just go for weapon if you have a built some pity. obviously super small sample size so it could be wildly incorrect. the in game just says 1.6% for whatever you have chosen as rate up so that doesn't really help much

Btw gold is now selling at 520 gems per 1 mil, whales are going crazy upgrading their gear and it's probably going to keep rising. If you are hoarding gold and don't mind not rushing content then you should keep holding and then sell later when it is extremely high.

Right now it is absolutely not necessary to +15 all your gear or higher, the endgame content is basically 8-man Hexchess Elite and it's just farming it to further prepare for whatever new endgame content is coming in a couple of months. My suggestion is to take things in this game kinda slowly and just build up gold since that is the lifeblood of this game. The reason why alts are considered so important in this game is because more gold is always better and the neat thing is that at the very least it won't take forever for a F2P to accumulate enough gold to sell to acquire paid items that would normally take months to grind out in other MMOs.

It's kind of like DMC. You have 5 buttons with 2 skills each. There's a dash to cancel animations/iframe dodge.
The game is pretty pay to win since there is a lot of different upgrade systems and some of them are heavy on RNG. Pvp is gear balanced so whales can't actually harm you unless you really care about being #1 on the dps meter.

Due to the fact that both F2P and whales are limited by the energy system, there is always value in a F2P player. You'll make lots of money naturally so long as you play the game and join an active fleet. Every week you'll get an insignia bag from the Fleet's spirit frenzy which will give you 90% chance of a pink insignia (some pinks sell for 4-5 mil gold) and a 10% chance of a gold insignia (sells for around 10 mil gold). These along with just your usual daily gold income ensure that you will have a stable source of gold and if you ever want to trade that gold in for premium currency to roll gacha or do other stuff with it then you can.

I actually saw what the new classes played like recently and I am kind of underwhelmed. I was looking forward to the loli class but Inventor's playstyle/aesthetics are a miss for me. I think Mystrix/the Assassins look by far the most popular of the unreleased. I'm personally excited for Glaciette the most though.

If I level and keep a Musketeer unawakened now can I use it for Mystix later or will the new class be locked to characters made after it's release unless I pay the 1k gem tax?

does the price of gold usually go up? on my server its currently around 28 gems for 100k but I saw a video from someone else and their gold was like 48 gems for 100k. my server doesnt seem to have many whales though

Sometimes feels like the opal market is shared between all servers for a region but yes, during the start of the 2nd week Gold cost about 560 opals per 1 mil because many whales were upgrading their gear all at once and were swiping all of the gold. Now as less whales are enhancing/buying up insignias, there's less demand for gold as the supply keeps rising.

Today I learned so long as your side of Elite Hexchess succeeds in killing Leotids and Ophelia, you can progress while whoever is on the other side timed out is left behind.
Killed Polones twice and essentially soloed Claudius & Merida and carried 3 newer players through their first Elite clear. I miss this feeling in games. Haven't felt like this since playing Granblue Fantasy years ago. Most mobile/gacha nowadays focus on an entirely single-player experience and I fucking hate this shift.

Honestly looking at future content, anyone who's already spent enough for +20 is already at a "good" spot in strength for like the next year or so. F2Ps typically stop at +15 all gear and are still able to play the current content on CN since besides Enhancing there are many other avenues to gain power in CN now that don't require the average player to throw thousands of dollars.

I actually enjoy the combat overall but trying to speedrun content for leaderboard e-peen kind of sucks the fun out of the game.
