Still really tough and required a different comp to the one I used for normal — my guess is the extra tankiness was causing the team to rack up more defence down debuff during the first phase. Nerfing the gloop allowed me to slot Mayahuel in there and whittle her down quickly. Even then they came super close to dying.

That's up to you. We don't really have a ton of dolls that are good all the way to EoS, but we do have some. Buying the UE isn't as easy as rolling the gacha in this Witch, it's more like a 2 week or 1 month investment depending on how often we'll be getting the currency to buy it. Also, remember that at least in GL Witch, you do *NOT* get your UE materials refunded when you reset a doll, so leveling the UE is a permanent investment. Some UEs to consider:

>Tuonel
- Her S2 now increases ATK by an additional 16% of her own ATK
Not that great, but Tuonel is top tier until EoS, and UEs give a lot of stats
>Akasha
- On crit, increases crit dmg by 4% and Pdef penetration by 160, stacks 10 times (40%, 1600 pen)
If you go all in on Akasha, she has pretty good longevity, and this gives her Pdef shred
>Celanya
- 32% increased dmg for first 30 seconds
Has good longevity if invested
>Anemone
- 8% ATK / 8% Mdef shred every 10 sec, stacks 3 times
If you pulled her and want to use her over Maya

- Increases dmg by 16% for 10 sec after casting a skill
Not the best, but again you're using the UE for the stats, and Maya was the best Mage in GL for like an entire year before competing Mages were released (G. Dana, Shiroi, Nasha to a lesser extent)

- DoTs enemy for 1.6% of HP lost (reverse of Amanami's UE)
If you go all in on Shuffle, she's pretty good, but she does not have Pdef shred, so you will basically need to also pull Catherine and Amorai, which are units you want to pull anyway honestly, but we do not have them right now, and Amorai was originally released for Valentine's, no idea if they will keep same schedule or wait till Valentine's for her

If you want them tankier. Nannar's is a self heal, she's a nuisance in PvP but it doesn't actually matter

Once you clear out the Yellow shop of all the good stuff, it's probably worth dumping an ungodly amount of stamina into the Red shop's 8k souls. The default farming stage is ~17k souls per stamina, but the Red event shop is ~21k souls per stamina if you only have Witch, Nocturna, and Acheronte as your bonus dolls. Plus you can sometimes get other drops in those stages as well. It goes even higher if you pull Nannar or Metamorphosis.

It's like dumping your stamina into the level 6 souls farming stage, except you get an extra ~120k soul (or more, if you roll for the UR dolls) and also get other random ascension materials or skill materials at the same time

Alright, here are some of the Witches. I feel like I've seen more. Like, wasn't there a video inside of PixelNeko's studio and you could see artists working on stuff? Maybe there are more Witch concepts in the video, wherever it is.

Then you get 1000 currency from that same battle pass, and over 1000 for free just from doing game stuff

I don't remember if the event battle passes were this crazy in GL, but if this continues, then for $10, you can completely max out one level 60 UE per month. Maybe even more depending on if this event battle pass thing happens for every single event. It's exploding my brain how good of a value this is. In case anyone needs reminding, Metamorphoses is good for Saltstone teams, but Saltstone is generally a pretty bad element because old Witch never split Mercury/Brimstone/Saltstone and instead split Physical/Magical, and Brimstone just ends up being better at Physical than Saltstone, and Mercury ends up being better at Magic than Saltstone. The only time they ever split M/B/S was for the Chinese New Year boss I think it was, where certain elements got a buff or debuff depending on the boss, but the best strat was to just use Amanami and Shuffle UEs to kill the boss since they had a shit ton of HP and not a lot of Defense

At the end game, Meta was used very seldomly in rankings as a sacrifice doll where you reset the fight until you got her ATK buff or her Def buff, whichever one you were going for and then let her die

My Phys team sucks so bad. Catherine should be coming soon, which is good, but I don't know which DPS I want to invest in. Celanya is good, but I just don't like her. Matveiffe is good, and I like her, but she is (or at least was) the next battlepass doll, and they didn't add those to the general pool until after the battlepass was completed, so she's a long way away for me. I almost want to go with Shuffle even if it means that I'd need to max invest her (and other units) to really get anything out of her, but maxing her out and investing her necessary support dolls might take even longer than waiting for Matveiffe

Mostly, yes. So first off, Caledonia is not that great as a tank because during burst she leaves your middle slot open to attacks because she's dashing back and forth. She's still a really good first physical tank until Catherine, and she was "free" in the petal shop, but Catherine is the real Brimstone tank, not Caledonia.

Second, Caledonia still does have a place in highly optimized runs. Her Phsyical Defense shred is higher than Catherine's. Caledonia shreds up to 100% of her own Pdef, while Catherina only shreds 60% of her own Pdef. There are occasions where, for scoring/leaderboard purposes and not really that often (if at all) for clearing purposes, you would want Caledonia rather than Catherine, or maybe in addition to Catherine, but Catherine is the actual Brimestone tank that you use for tanking purposes.

Not really. You should be exchanging your white petals for 40 gold petals per month. You'll probably also be naturally pulling, which gives you gold petals, and the new PvP mode gives you 20 gold petals per month I think (10 petals every 2 weeks), so you will have enough gold petals to be buying the dolls that you "need", and Caledonia was one of them.

You can skip Akasha easily because we got Celanya for free. Afallen is getting a rerun so you can pull her now or you can wait till next month and buy her from the shop for "free", but also you might be able to skip her depending on the order of events. Tuonel of Night and Kapla were the Chinese New Year dolls, and they came after Catherine. We don't know if they're going in straight up release order, meaning some combination of Sher, Cersivey, Tuonel of Night, and Kapla should be next, or if they are going to save the dolls to correspond with the events that they originally released for. I'd say Tuonel of Night is a better tank than Afallen, but we don't know for sure that she's coming soon. Then Mineer and Goorvieg are both bullshit, so you have a couple save months, but then there's Amanami, Tuonel, and Cahterine, which you should buy if you do not have at that point but you probably will if you're playing right now, and then it's a whole bunch of nothing for the entire rest of the game so you can kinda be spending your gold petals however you feel like. Like me personally, I'll probably pick up Meta and Nannar from gold petals if I don't off-banner them by then. I plan to pull Catherine and Tuonel of Night on release, and I might even buy an Amanami dupe if I'm swimming in petals when she comes around.

The pity is supposed to go to the new doll, because I built it up on Nannar, which was a new doll, not a rerun, and not even a doll that was in the permanent pool either. The rerun banner cycle is brand new, and no one should have any pity on it.

I'm gonna be pulling for Catherine regardless, but I built that pity up trying to get Nannar. I already had to go full pity on Amanami, and since it was looking like I'd need to go full pity on Nannar too, I decided to save it for Catherine... but the carried the wrong fucking pity over. I don't remember her being limited, and she's in the petal shop in a few months so she's definitely not limited. The limited dolls that I remember were like the summer units and I think Amorai. Catherine was not a limited/event unit.

There was "Dreamland", "Awakening", "Elemental", and I think it was called "Exclusive".
Dreamland was for new dolls (i.e. Nannar, Catherine, etc)
Awakening is for reruns (usually when an old doll got a new UE added)
Elemental was what it sounds like, which we don't have
Exclusive was for limited units that don't get added to the banner, like summer units.

Catherine is literally the same "Dream" banner type that Nannar was, because they are both new, non-limited units.
I'm gonna wait and hope they fix this. If they don't fix it I'm gonna be pissed, because my luck so far in CN Witch is that I have to full pity everything. I held back on summoning Nannar, because Catherine was coming soon, going by old CN schedule. Instead of being rewarded, I'm being punished.

Ardisia was mostly used as a sacrifice doll for her UE effect of 30% extra Order energy generation for the first 30 seconds. She seems good, like she'd have more uses than that, but unfortunately the Magic Mercury team is very solidified as being Amanami/Eddine/[DPS] and so there isn't really a place for her on a main team in the grand scheme of things. I do think I remember seeing her a decent amount on PvP teams.

Also, if we're getting Ardisia, we should be getting Symbriette as well. She's basically like a slightly different Tuonel of Night. Personally I think Tuonel of Night is still better, because ToN has a stun, but they're very similar. You can think of her like a slightly more offensive ToN, with ToN being slightly more defensive. I will probably be rolling for her since it's looking like we don't get ToN until CNY (her original event), which is next year. Very good in PvP as well, for the same reasons ToN is - dmg based on self Max HP.

Always really liked chapter 5, it's incredibly nice looking. The giant flying monster boss still looks so fucking cool to me. I remember being filtered by Camilyne for actual months on global due to missing powerful early game dolls, but it gave me something to keep coming back to and the feeling of finally beating her was so satisfying.

Which UEs have you bought?

I've only bought Amanami's, which I only have leveled to 20. The fact that you can't just roll the gacha and get infinite UEs in this Witch has made me really hesitant about buying and investing in UEs

I'm just using Afallen Amanami Mayahuel because it's my best team, and I attack teams things that aren't maxed out. I also try to avoid Nannar teams because of GL mental damage of getting countered to death. I normally try to attack teams that do not have Afallen on them or teams that are Ella Meta Tuonel, because the way they use energy, Ella usually never transforms with that team comp

Man, I really want Matwife. I don't like Celanya that much even though she's really good (and I just got murdered by Celanya Tuonel Catherine in PvP), I'm still on the fence about going all in on Shuffle even though she does end up being really good with max investment, Asherah is cool but probably way too far off, and Matwife is super cute and also pretty good. If this was GL Witch I'd actually buy the pass, and I probably would have bought that other pass that was basically like buying a maxed out UE for $10 which is still such an insane value to me, but this is CN Witch...
