Kinda fucked up they released Alli right after Kaze, since they are both high movement assassin brawlers. Alli kinda does Kaze's job 10x better with less effort lol.

Alli kind of powercrept most assassins, stat wise and in her mechanics. At least with Kenji there was enough of a distinction between him and Mortis that there's clear scenarios when to use which one.

Alli can go on water, deal % damage to tanks, can jump while dealing more damage and having a faster reload speed than Mico, can heal with her gadget and go invisible, can reduce the time needed to heal like Tick's starpower or increase her reload speed (which further defecates all over Mico's). What doesn't she have that other assassins do have? I guess Buzz has his stun and Stu's gadget can wall break but that's really it.

They should've made Alli be the anti-tank assassin who functions like a close-range Colette since she already steals so much from Colette.

You probably want to go a high dps brawler to out do he's healing. People typically pair Berry with a tank. Lou is a great anti-tank and is a great brawler in Hotzone. I assume Hank could do well into Berry too.

Yeah I think that's somewhat of my issue. I'll have first pick into pic related for example, and just pick Penny, Amber or Gus, not thinking about Berry (I tend to ban Gray so no tele cheese).

Crow reduces healing, use him on more closed maps. Byron can reduce healing with his starpower, use him on more open maps.

Belle's main attack can bounce between targets and her super essentially acts as a reverse-shield which reduces the targets health, use her on maps you'd similarly use Byron.

Penny and Jessie can do a lot of damage if their attacks line up but they suck in the meta so I wouldn't advise doing so and Berry's main attack shuts down their turrents completely.

Barley is also very good into Berry as he can outdamage Berry's healing, outrange Berry, completely cover Berry's puddles with his super, and more while providing healing of his own with his gadget (only use Barley when the opponents lack an aggressive option).

Angelo, if you know how to play him right, he can be a pest when it comes to the singular barrel in the top-left corner next to the water. He has a 10 tile range while doing 4k damage so he can safely whittle the safe down while having more room to dodge than non-swimming brawlers. He usually isn't banned as "heist brawlers" like Chuck, Melodie, Colt and many more take their spots and he usually isn't picked because he simply isn't as popular as his sniper-cousins so he slips through in draft a lot.

I would recommend your current gears or maybe switch damage gear for shield gear. Because players won't be walking over your puddles (since they don't want to take around 4k damage), you won't see the value in that gear often whereas reload is a permanent stat buff and damage gear is extremely important in a damage based mode.

I wouldn't beat yourself up too much for losing to a Berry if you're first pick. A lot of the responsibility of counterpicks are on the 2nd and 3rd players. If the enemies go a high HP comp and your team still picks low dmg it's kinda on them Tbh. Best to try going for a general all arounder pick if your first. Amber and Gus are ok. Probably try and avoid Penny though if your first.

I think the most disrespectful and rage-inducing thing you can do is kill them/obtain the win condition, then deliberately(make it seem as obvious as you can) walk into their territory while they're respawning in spray something disrespectfully nuanced like the wilting rose spray as near their spawns as you can get away with.

The personal headhunts and anger-induced spikes of skill/sweat have been hilarious and some of the most fun I've had in this game.

Also technically her personality is different from Colette. Colette is an extroverted, aggressive, super positive, easily excitable fangirl. While Alli is an introverted, alone, shy, freaky stalker. Implied to really only be stalking one girl, Willow.
Though for reals I do agree Alli is overpowered and pretty braindead to play. I think they need to rework something in her base kit. She just does way too much for no effort.

I'd say she is the shy, weird, clingy stalker type in general with a current infatuation towards willow, probably the result of them being on the same team or maybe willow doing something nice for her once or acknowledging her existence and that single act made Alli obsess over her for the time being.

I'd get rid of one ammo bar. Her entire purpose is being a jack of all trades that can jump like Mico, dash like Mortis, and swim which none of other assassins can do. With her high unload speed, she does each better than the brawlers they might be based on, which is not what a jack of all trades should accomplish. With two ammo, she can still target weak brawlers, but has to wait for a reload before she can attack again, giving time to react.

I don't like R-T's hypercharge. His main point is that he's a pain to counter because he's an omniscent security robot who watches and knows all the brawler's so he knows their weaknesses. This is why he's a sniper who counters sniper-counters. I was thinking what if his hypercharge continued this idea by allowing the player to immediately dash with his super and go through walls (only for the duration of the dash). This would allow him to use his super in more exciting and aggressive ways while countering his counters (throwers).

Instead, we got a hypercharge that throws random shit on the screen and atomizes every close-range brawler. It's messy, it has no finesse, it isn't R-T. He's a very satisfying brawler when you connect shots, combo off of his marks, and delete people close-range. These random orbiting orbs just look really messy.

First, we had Buzz Lightyear. Then it was somewhat calm in January until we got Hank's, Mandy's, and Mr. P's hyperchare in February. After they got toned down we got hit with Chester's and Sam's hypercharge along with Lumi being introduced in March. Skip March because we got zero balance changes if my memory serves me correct. During May we got a Kenji meta for a WHOLE MONTH along with the shitty wasabi powers. Now it's late-June/early-July and we have Alli terrorizing the game.

They reworked Ranked, "reworked" (more like nerfed) Masteries. Made it impossible for veterans to progress while catering to new players. Released a game breaking ability or brawler every season. Is riddled with bugs, some are just annoying while others can cost you the game.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic here, some good stuff has come recently like, uhhhh, Alli's fanart. It's just that, you can't fix a problematic gamebreaking ability like Hank's hypercharge just to go and release Chester's hypercharge.

The game has simply turned into "what new thing will make my matches unenjoyable for the next month?"

They've spent too much time trying to better old features, but the changes aren't meaningful and don't fix issues of the former systems.

All jokes aside, it's pretty good. I haven't toyed with the evolutions or champions a lot since the last time I played was before that but they have this new merging mode which is fun. I ve been playing for 5 years and these days I find it nearly impossible to have a casual match for trophies, 4/5 times you get afk randoms or people who just go in a straight line and die the entire match. i've also found alli to be disgusting in that mode, or just with the angel powers in general.
Matching up the reload angel power with her reload star power practically gives her infinite ammo, pairing it with the speed after supers power+rpassive rage/rage gadget gives her a leap that's almost 2x further than mico's.
She's nuts, she can also get the spirit base to like 60% by just base diving and using her super+heal gadget on it, match can be over before the first wave.

Alli is one of the worse additions to this game.

I've been saying how mediocre Melodie has been for a while now.

Only 600 more health than Edgar with no self-healing; her shield gadget (partially) fixes this issue but it's only worth using when you have 3+ notes.

5 hits for her supers (and you can't even recharge them until you've used up ALL of them, making them overly committal). Hell, Darryl has this same problem where even on the competitive scene some pros have previously used 1 super and they had to unnecessarily burn through another one if they wanted to get back to 2.

She's not even good in heist anymore now that Kaze (her main heist competitor), Charlie and Cordelius (her hard counters) got buffed. Brawl Ball is too tank heavy to make her work there too.

Even into "winning" matchups you can still lose with how many get-out-of-jail tools brawlers have and with the gadget rework it's only getting harder and harder to approach now. The only assassins/tanks that are viable now are the ones that can counter the tools to counter assassins/tanks. Kaze has so much movement baked into her kit because she gets a Mortis dash every second. Kenji's reload is much faster than Mortis so even though he has a lower burst movement he's still faster overall. Alli is Alli. When Shade is in walls 99% of the cast can't do anything but run away or die. Hank can hide behind a wall and spew 4k damage so you can't really do anything but run away. Ollie has almost 15k when he dives in on you and he has a jump. Draco can run you down while outdamaging, outhealing, and outmaneuvering you. Buster gets a free hypercharge every round in knockout. Do I need to go on?

She's just missing that oomph that other aggros have which is a shame because I love playing her. You spend so much time being patient for the golden opportunity where you have at least 2-3 notes, a full 3 supers, full health, and your gadget fully charged to dive in and make plays.

With Frank there's a long windup which allows him to be vulnerable to CC. It starts out very narrow so you can easily dodge it up close and it breaks walls which means you have to choose when and where so you don't shoot yourself in the foot. Getting stunned by a Frank ult is pretty fair due to how hard it is to connect it and how vulnerable it leaves him.

With Buzz it's a slow, dodgeable, projectile whose duration depends on the distance thrown. Couple that with him having one of the longest unload speeds in the game and a point-blank stun really can only delay his doom depending on who he ults on. If you miss his ult then you have to go back to the process of slowly charging it up and there's so much CC and push backs in the game to interrupt his ult, it's completely fair if he stuns you.

Now with Kit, do you feel like not playing the game? Good thing it autocharges. Do you have bad aim? Good thing it autoconnects even if you're a couple tiles off. Are you jealous of Frank having one of the longest stuns in the game? Well you can stun for 2 seconds with 0 counter play! It's an instant 2k damage that charges a quarter of your ult and it leaves you on top of them to get a couple free swipes and recharge your ult completely for free! It doesn't break walls and it goes over walls which helps far more than Frank's ult since Kit is even more close-range than the prior. Now yes, you are vulnerable when you ult but that's AFTER the stun. It is unavoidable. Even if Kit dies mid-ult you can't push him off of you or delay it. The speed of it means it's hard to react to it compared to other jumps in the game. With Buzz even if he connects his ult at max range he still has to go through the trouble of getting dragged there. The things that traditionally countered brawlers with stuns is irrelevant to Kit because there is nothing you can do about it.

There are certain brawlers who should never be meta. Lily is one of them. When I get stunned and die against a Buzz, it feels fair, it's my fault I got hit by his stun, I could've dodged it. Whenever a Fang bounces onto me and I die, it's my fault for clumping up with my teammates. When an Edgar jumps on me and I die, it's my fault for being within his super range.

When a Lily appears on top you with her gadget and there's absolutely nothing you could do about it, things like this should never be in the game nor meta. Your reason for dying/losing should always be fair and understandable. Her HC being undodgeable isn't fair, it feels fucking awful to lose against. When a Primo or a Bull dashes on top of you it's understandable as to why you lost. It isn't a 100-0 match up where you're either fucked or you're fucked.

The idea that she’s somehow the “meta” thrower pretty much came out of nowhere and the reasoning for it makes little sense.
Out of all the throwers, she has the worst main attack in that it has no clear advantage (Grom’s is worse but his attack has a niche in how long it is)
Barley has lingering shots that control space, Dyna has raw damage, Juju has versatility, Berry has heals, Larry has a quick projectile and burst damage, Juju has versatility, and Tick/Grom/Sprout have range. What is Willow’s attack’s perk? The amount of damage it deals?
No, it does less than Barley’s and only the same as Larry’s while having much less burst.
That it’s poison? That makes it even worse since now if someone dives on you it takes forever for the poison to tick down and kill them.
The fact that it doesn’t linger makes her attack really hard to hit. It has a similar travel time and range as Barley’s but you often can’t trap people with hers the same way you can with his since it doesn’t linger.
So what is her niche compared to any other thrower?

What? With her super and gadget? Most of the time all you’re getting out of your gadget is a trade at best thanks to her dumbass poison attack and unimpressive damage.
With her super a lot of the time if a tank is on you and you use it, you still end up having the tank STILL ALIVE on your side of the map in a bad position.
Killing an enemy will always be better than just making them move back a bit. Larry is FAR better into tanks than Willow because he can actually KILL them with his high burst attack and reload Star Power on the super. His gadget is way more consistent at keeping you alive too.

Your fault for not being aware. You know the Lily is in the game, you know the Lily is running that gadget because 99% of them do, and you know she’s going to use it at the start of the match so you can predict where she’s going to go with it and either avoid her if your brawler is weak to her, or go to her if your brawler counters her.
From there you can keep track of the gadget cooldown to know when you have to be mindful of her or not.

Willow is less of a tank counter and more of an assassin counter while Larry is more of a tank counter. Larry can't really do much if a Bonnie or an Edgar dives in on him but he absolutely shreds Franks, Primos, and other less-movement based brawlers with his reload star power.

Willow is good because when she has super then assassins can't really dive on her, limiting their pool of targets, it gives her super so much more value if it connects. If it's an assassin with a stun or any form of cc that would stop her from using her super (Bonnie HC, Buzz super, Kenji HC, etc etc) then she can simply go underground and entirely waste their approach tool. Her super is good for undoing all of the hard work assassins do but she sucks against tanks and other throwers.

She's really good but only in Brawl Ball and only into specific comps. Her super is arguably a better Charlie super and the fact she is a thrower yet counters traditional thrower counters means she can be a pain to deal with in draft.

No, the whole role of assassins and tanks in this game is to create space for their team and to distract the enemy. Snipers aren't going to be prioritizing you when the Mico is the main threat to their safe. The entire point of heist is protecting the safe and the biggest threat to said safe are brawlers that can rush it down (Chuck, Melodie, Mico, Bull, Darryl, Kaze, Colette). They'll be focusing on getting rid of the Mico before he removes a shield so you can pick them off.

Also, in higher lobbies, good players will never let you get any value from Penny in Bridge Too Far. She lacks range, health, movement, damage. You're going up against SNIPERS, the class that hits pretty hard so they can easily take out your turret AND you. Penny gets boxed out by every meta option here and is only viable as a last pick if your opponents draft like retards.

Honestly at this point , if you're not playing with a team , ranked is absolutely impossible. All the good players are stuck Legendary above and the randoms don't choose to push past mythic.

Unless your consistently above Masters or Legendary before every Ranked "reset" , then it's literally worthless. You can easily finish the pro pass by just grinding to mythic and even then its a hastle lmao.

Is Tara actually good? I'm not disagreeing that her super is probably one of the best in the whole game; but, everything else about her is honestly mediocre or below average.

Main attack deals less damage than fucking OLLIE at mid-range. She has one of the slowest reload speeds in the game. Only 200 more health than Edgar. Her super and maybe her burst damage, at point-blank mind you, are probably the only things that are remotely good about her. Her spawnables can be easily dealt with, just bring a brawler that has splash. Any time of speed boost absolutely destroys her since connecting her super, the best thing about her, becomes that much harder.

Maybe how fast she can cycle hypers should be accounted for; but, since her super takes forever her hyper may as well.

Yeah but her biggest counters are top of the meta. Jae-yong can easily escape her super and has piercing for her gadget. Lumi has the same range with practically 4x the damage at max range with infinite ammo, slows, CC. Draco, Kenji, Hank, Shade can easily pierce her pets and their sustainability overwhelms Tara's slow reload.

I just think that she's overrated. Yeah she can turn around games but unless you're facing a bunch of knuckleheads you won't be given the time of day to hit a bunch of your opponents clumped up. With how much faster the game has simply been due to hypercharges, newer assassins, and generally more and more speed I'm finding her super to not be as good as it was in the old days.

Her best mode is Gem Grab, where in the pro scene, she is either being first picked, or banned in every gem grab match (Only time this doesn't occur is when a team first picks a very hard counter, biggest IMO is Buster)
Her pets are very versatile

>They will go after anyone who is not invisible, and wont lose hp overtime like Charlie's Spiders
>Provide extra damage, good if you can get close to an enemy, better if you can spawn them over an enemy stuck in your super
She can keep track of enemy positioning, constantly keeping her position so they lose map control, and using super to regain/overtake it. Just don't use her healing pet in Gem Grab, you don't want enemies finding out where you or your teammates are!

So, Trunk got released. I decided to give jewcell my shekels so I got their early access. They're alright, not nearly as bad as other players are making out to be but they are underwhelming in most aspects.

The good about them is just how overwhelming their stats can be for some brawlers to deal with. A tank who can give himself practically permanent speed/damage boosts who can deal nearly 4k damage through walls is a force to be reckoned with. Trunk can hit REALLY hard, anons., especially their super; I think by far the best thing about them is probably their super damage. It can absolutely rip through enemies, I'd say even more than Clancy's. It's much more committal but if it connects and they don't have any CC then 9/10 times they're just instantly dying. Even into other tanks his super just absolutely whittles them to dust. It has a very high recharge rate too so you can completely snowball other teams. The potential is high here.

Now the bad, there's a lot of bad about this brawler. First, let's look at their main attack. When it comes to main attacks, there must be proper trade offs. Bibi, Ash, and Shade have a long wind up but they trade their speed with their raw power. Frank's wind up is a pretty egregious example but it's rectified by the fact that he has the longest range for a tank and it's speed scales off of his current HP. When it comes to brawlers with tippers, Draco deals 2x damage at max range and has a respectable reload speed and range so he isn't a complete sitting duck. Shade can hit through walls and deals 3200 damage without requiring a rage meter, if you can hit your shots you can rack up damage pretty fast. With the "Jacky attack" brawlers they trade their range for having by far the quickest attacks in the game.

Trunk's main attack has the shortest range in the game with a wind up and a tipper with none of the bonuses that the other brawlers has. Stat wise, he's underwhelming yet overwhelming.

The one that shoots projectiles and makes them return. Reaper's Scythe and Recurring Nightmare.
Nothing else matters, it's good on every brawler. You are pretty much throwing the match if don't pick them. The demonic projectiles goes through walls. Brawlers like Lumi, Hank and Angelo who don't have the typical ammo count can fire them non-stop through walls.
I recommend "Cursed Mement" as a third pick. Since they make your demonic projectiles even more oppressive, leaving little fire puddles like Brock's attack.

It's because the projectiles are spread out based on how thick your main attack is. So with say Edgar's or Angelo shot, because they're pretty relatively straight forward, they tend to hug the main projectile and are pretty close. This is why it sucks on Jacky, Frank, Stage 3 Clancy. Their attacks are just far to wide and the projectiles always ride on the horizontal edge of the attack.

Their range actually scales based off of how close a brawler is towards you; so, when you autoaim it picks the nearest brawler towards you, ignoring if they're even within your main attack range. When you manually aim it resets it to your literal max range since you're overriding the auto-brawler selection.

If you want to manually aim with a brawler while still abusing how much control you get with the powers I'd recommend Charlie and Carl and just spam right next to a wall. You can choose where on the map you want to lock down without getting fucked over by the autoaim in some scenarios.

If you're playing Jacky you might as well still use it. As the other powers aren't really any better desu. Standing inside an enemy and attacking so the projectiles instantly hits does help with damage too.
