That there are no pokemon out there in the tall grass that give a shit about their offspring? They just let them wander around on their own and get captured by a stranger one day never to be seen again? Isn't it kind of messed up to just take a pokemon from their family and force it to battle for you? To be a tool that battles for you, and has to compete against other mons for a spot on the team just to not be thrown away or forgotten about?

How has it never happened that some punk catches a Nidoran and the mother Nidoqueen was nearby and beat the absolute daylights out of the trainer to save their baby? Or worse, in the pursuit of trying to get them back, also get captured and enslaved by the trainer.

They are animals

When someone "captures" a Pokémon in a ball the regular way, it is the Pokémon agreeing to stay in the ball and be the Trainer's Pokémon. There's two main kinds of Wild Pokémon, the kind who stay away from humans and the ones who are seeking out humans to be their Trainer, the latter group is nearly always the Wild Pokémon we see, the few times the former group are seen its generally not even possible even attempt to use any ball on them at all. A Wild Battle is really a formality, its the Pokémon testing you to see if you are worthy, or for the higher Catch Rate Pokémon them trying to prove themselves to you. The majority of Pokémon like to battle and become stronger. Pokémon Battles are different thing from a literal fight, Pokémon Battles are safe and standardised way for Pokémon to fight. Pokémon know they gain many benefits from being with a human and Pokémon can leave their Trainer if they want.

There's totally Wild Pokémon who care about their offspring, but it may vary by species like it does for real-life animals. If they didn't want their offspring to leave them to get with a Trainer, they'd just not let them go looking for humans.

i mean, wild pokemon often spawn in groups in SV and lots of IRL animals separate from their children temporarily got whatever reason (looking for food or something) so who's to say the parents just aren't around
