I actually had a concept for a pair of Gym Leader based on exactly this. They were a pair of Bug and Grass type leaders that was a white female and and black female (respectively with their type) that are in fact twins who are Geneticist (and were inspired to be geneticist because of the bizarre fact of them being twins).
