No, the manga's psychopath protagonist is Blake (BW2 Nate) but he's technically a sociopath (I think, forgot a lot about him) which is different. Ruby is just a very emotionally closed off guy because of neglect, abandonment and fatherlessness, and the loneliness drives him to wear masks (lying) and attention seeking behavior (obsessed with validation from contests and his girlfriend). But if you really want to use pop psychology terms on him, then he's probably a benign narcissist with avoidant personality disorder caused by PTSD and long term emotional neglect.

Blake is the creepier one because he literally has no emotions, and his personality might not even be real. Ruby has emotions and a real personality, so he's genuinely a gentle person who avoids conflict 99% of the time as long as nobody touches his girlfriend. He also has conditional empathy. But he's also unstable (no internal moral compass) and his real personality is kind of shit, so very few people like his parents and Sapphire like him for who he is. With Sapphire it's like how only pet animals are innocent enough to tolerate people with shit personalities.

Ruby's instability also ironically lets him change a lot, and he becomes a much nicer person over time because he changes to basically appease Sapphire. He gets to grow as a character, compared to the previous PokeSpe anti-hero protag (Gold) who might be permanently stuck (almost defined by immaturity) because presumably Kusaka initially thought the Pokemon franchise was ending at GS and didn't create Gold to be that deep. But the franchise kept going by RS and suddenly all the manga characters had ebin angst from the start, because there was now more time to explore that I guess.

Yeah on the surface it looks like he was just being manipulative for no reason. But it's always the same thing with Ruby, he felt too vulnerable and regretted spilling his spaghetti, since confessing your love is embarrassing. So in a moment of autism he decided to just pretend it didn't happen. Both to protect his ego and because he truly got scared (he'd never genuinely been so in love before and didn't know how to deal with it). Of course lying to Sapphire just hurt her feelings, but that was collateral damage in Ruby's attempt to protect himself. He didn't manipulate her just for the lols (if he was in it for the lols, then that's what would've made him a psychopath). So he just prioritized his own emotional fear over doing the right thing (being honest for her sake) because he's a selfish coward. Not a psychopath though lol not even Ruby's that crazy.

But in the end it's still gaslighting regardless of his intentions. At least he finally stops lying and embraces the cringe of being a Sapphire simp by the end of ORAS, where he had a second ego death in the face of literal death by meteor. He even apologizes to her for the first time (he's never apologized verbally to anyone else before, that's how selfish he used to be

If nothing else Ruby's emotional retardation makes Sapphire more interesting in hindsight. She never backtracked on what she confessed to Ruby, even years later. It's not that she completely lacks shame, because she gets embarrassed too, but unlike Ruby she doesn't pussy out and run away from being cringe. Her whole personality and life is cringe anyway desu so maybe it's just easier for her to be honest and humble. Besides she has more of a purpose outside of their relationship anyway so Ruby's reciprocation isn't the end of her world. Her emotional opennness is why she's considered brave, while Ruby's emotional repression is why he's considered a coward.

It also means Sapphire's greatest strength is stereotypically feminine and Ruby's greatest weakness is stereotypically masculine. But the inverse is also true, where their greatest strengths and weaknesses are the same thing: especially when it comes to anger, Sapphire often gets overwhelmed by her emotions, while Ruby usually has his emotions under control unless Sapphire's in danger, then he goes mental and causes worse disasters than Sapphire ever does. Both their personalities are at extreme opposite ends of the same spectrum, so the only one who can balance them out is each other.

Depends on whether or not the ancient genes override Palafins current personality assuming it shares its fellows' "sentiment".

But putting the rapist shitposting aside, there wouldn't be much they could do to help ingrained May aside from putting her and Roselia out of their misery. They would have no idea what they're dealing with, only seeing that the last human and Roselia alive are suffering. Perhaps they could organize bringing stuff to them or search for help. But then again, we're talking about a post-apocalyptic Pokéworld, so finding anyone qualified would be very difficult, if not impossible.

Also, their bodies are so weak and injured that the only thing keeping them alive are the roots. So the moment you sever their life line to bring them up to the surface, they would immediately die because of all the dozen fatal ailments they've accumulated so far.

I can't even remember the last time I played on Switch mode. It was probably HGSS back when they were released.

Set mode is nice because you can't just have a team of fast hard hitters who outspeed and one shot everyone with stab super effective moves and clear the game without taking any damage. It's even better with a level cap, no items in battle and optionally death on KO because you have to think about the damage you will take. The switch battle mode shouldn't exist, it's literally a cheat mode enabled by default, other trainers don't have it, and you don't have it in multiplayer or in battle facilities.

haha i made this. i haven't made anything for a while but i should really get back into it and finish some off to upload. i have some new drawings done (this looks like shit now, i figured out how to draw with pixels properly) that i just couldn't be bothered animating because i have to hand place every new pixel of each of the 1000 frames with MS paint because i am not good with computer.
the problem i have is that i now have higher standards and started redrawing every single frame of a really long old animation, and the motivation is rarely there. the most fun i had with it was adding some ripped RSE sfx to the animation that worked really well.

I never touched game settings, so I always considered base RSE to be really easy (minus the Battle Tower/Frontier which I sucked at). Since I've been craving challenge lately I picked up the Mystery Dungeon games again instead. I never touched the settings for these either but their default state was always tougher for me than the mainline games. I'm having a lot of fun with them too.
