To be fair Charizard is actually really common compared to modern rates. Vintage Base Set had a massive 1/3 pull rate for holos and only had 16 holos. I know it's not statistically correct but in effect you could see it as a 1/48 chance of pulling a Charizard. Pulling ANY SIR is like 1/100 and pulling a specific SIR is like 1/1000. It's no wonder so many modern cards sell for more than Vintage when modern has such dogshit pull rates. Really hoping Black and White is a change of course considering how many are in the set.

This. The difference between a card rated a 9 and a card rated 10 is so overwhelmingly negligible that it should just be worth a few bucks. Like before grading got such a hole on the hobby the difference between a fraction of a millimeter on the border or a single white speck if you look closely at the back of a corner would be entirely ignored. But now the number supersedes the card itself, so that otherwise imperceptible flaw costs hundreds of dollars.
