Funny enough both Miko and Ivy look up to different Unova E4 members.
For MIko, it's Grimsley. Since he's a prominent gambler and casino owner, he's inspired Miko to want to open up a casino of his own some day. Miko also treasures the scarf he won off of Grimsley from a bet.
And of course, Ivy's always idolized Marshall because of his muscles and strength. Although her reaction upon first seeing him in person was to attack him, she probably meant well and did so out of respect... probably.

For context, they met in the Blueberry Academy Terrarium. Miko's dad Julio is a medical technology researcher and writer and often brings Miko along with him when he travels for work since no one else can watch him (Miko's mom Mei works at a restaurant). And more often than not (all the time), Julio ends up in a panic after losing track of his son- Miko's a wanderer.
This story takes place at the same time as chapter 1 where Ivy has a run in with Marshall. Julio was invited to present his work/findings at the Blueberry Academy, thus explaining why Miko is there. The Fight Club at the Academy managed to get Marshall to visit that same day and his friend Grimsley, wanting to get another taste of his Alolan vacation, tagged along to enjoy the relaxing Coastal Biome the terrarium has, thus explaining why he was there.

He was pretty lost and scared when he first arrived, and it was due to his partner Raziel that he managed to regain his confidence. Now, as a human, he still sees Raziel as his best friend and is trying to help him through his own demons to repay the kindness.

Midge: Midge was really into Crossrider (teehee) and power rangers, and cosplayed as both often. She took her skills in cosplay and used them for making contest outfits. She denies ever wearing full crossrider cosplay to school.

Sylvie: Was never cringe. How could she be? Everyone was dabbing and quoting memes. Not just her. She does downplay her involvment though.

Ooh boy, that's part of why Louis waited for a good chance to do his traveling and training out of Kalos. From around 11-14, he was suffering a severe case of chuunibyou that has left him cringing since. Exact specifics are going to be left vague, but there was a distinct alchemist-y focus to it that was backed with some research. There's a reason his starter was nicknamed after a kind of allegedly supernaturally powerful poison, after all, while everything afterwards is getting more 'normal' names.
Contrary to his internal thoughts on the cringe, he is in a world where people willingly go around calling themselves 'hex maniac's, 'super nerds', etc, and wear incredibly stereotypical outfits. His parents think he's being a little overdramatic about it, but that is how it is. His little sister thinks his cringe at it is hilarious, despite her having a phase just as bad as his was for her own chosen type specialty.
One planned bit of character development is that he's going to be drifting towards 'show battling' and thus need to have an appropriate 'face' to wear. It'll be pointed out to him that while he's got the technical stuff down decently, he still needs to work on the presentation. Saddling him with a couple of cringe or otherwise overblown traveling companions will do the rest, I think.

Believe me, it feels even worse on my end. Even before that happened I've noticed how much people have come and gone, how poor our retention rate really is. I've witnessed the appearance and disappearance of OCs like specters in the night. That day we lost five notable users, three of them quite active, and while I'm glad one of them is gone and I might not have paid attention to the rest (besides Archivist), that was the time that cemented that this thread is not what it used to be. There is no way of going back and the future will simply NEVER be as good as the old times, and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. I am the only person still left from that era who still visits regularly, the rest have either left or come once or twice a month. I used to be so ambitious, planning to write out Alex's entire life up until like his 20s, now I just want to get this shitty side project and the three chapter fanfic over with. On the bright side, I have finally finished sorting everything into folders. Now here comes the part where I have to sort things into the subfolders of each character within each anon's folder. After that, we'll archive the images from this thread about 10 posts before bump limit so we can quickly sort them out, and hopefully we should by them finally be ready to re-open the archives in the next OP.

There is about an even split between normal mons and "Plot mons."
Neige started mostly normally, but she had more skill points than her rank should have allowed. When the weird stuff started happening and she split into 3 different Pokémon, they all got different typing. Hiver, the 3rd Neige, was Dark Psychic, I believe.
Spes became a Normal Ghost type after Neige used the move "???" on him, and his color drained.
My pancham, Metis, seems normal, but it turns out she is always "holding back," so sometimes she jumps up a rank or two when she gets serious.

I went and did a count, and most of the unique mons are either the starters or our MVP Pokémon. Not always our first catch, but kind of like Ash's Charizard of our teams. With five players, that is 10 special Pokémon + 3 we called the Konosuba mons because they act like Darkness, Aqua, and Megumi. Carmine has 2 more, a Scorbunny that was bred to be a powerhouse and an Emolga who got juced up by Hiver to help heal her. So there are quite a lot, but there are more normal Pokémon than special.

Quartz's only bug type Pokémon is a Karrablast named Titan. She is one of the Konosuba mons I mentioned, acts a lot like Darkness in that she is clearly getting into trouble because she likes it. She has gotten Quartz into trouble a few times. People have called the cops on him for mistreating his Pokémon, and he has to explain how he wasn't abusing her; it is all a misunderstanding.

As for Quartz, yeah, it is pretty fun playing that out. he calls him Mr. Saturn now and hopes to meet him one day. In our timeline, Quartz was born in 2014, one year after the events of X and Y. it's not "dealing" with them per se. i'm sure the idea sounds pretty dumb, but having a team from a separate region involved kinda ties into the vibes i want to achieve if/when i put their story onto paper. in contrast to bibi, who's sort of my take on a non self insert/blank slate version of the scarlet protag, and thus has to be part of a story that significantly shapes the larger world of pokemon in some way, nyx and rina's adventure honestly doesn't really impact anyone or anything outside themselves+their pokemon. the stakes are more or less entirely personal. i tend to describe it as "the heroes having already shown up and slain the metaphorical dragon long ago, and two people cleaning up the aftermath." once again, subject to change, as i do think playing oras might make my ideas change, but if you go by x's lore, team flare was looking into immortality, and we see in the anime that deoxys has regenerative capabilities. while unrelated to the ultimate weapon, i figured it wouldn't be too out there to have them investigate other means to achieve immortality, and as a kid i interpreted hoenn's wealth of secret bases to be indicative of the fact that the region has tons of places to create sneaky hideaways. rina herself is the result of trying to create an immortal being, hence her lack of memories or ideas about her origins. when flare got busted in kalos her body got dumped out in the wilderness since, by virtue of displaying no supernatural powers, she was deemed a failed project anyways. there's enough evidence left behind in secret bases for them to put the pieces together so ultimately, there's no team to take down, or real villains to overcome, outside the two's own personal demons really, though of course, there's pokemon battling and training done along the way!

The blonde woman finally died, with her brain starting to leak from her ears. “Oh god oh god oh god….PENNY WHY!?!” Screamed Nemona. With Cynthia dead, the original three were all just a nasty mixture of bones and dead meat. Penny's stomach was almost filled to the brim with stomach acid, which was bubbling against Nemona's back. Nemona looked to her side, seeing Cynthia's remaining eye turn into goop, before her body completely sank under her.

That is a very nice lore, I like how you put it together. Deoxys and Team Flare sound like they go together well. Also, I don't think the idea is dumb. It is not as if people can't move around regions in Pokémon. After they get beaten, I could see remnants of enemy teams moving on, maybe in a fractured state. I recall sometimes Teams from older games show up as new teams, usually with some dialogue like "I used to be part of Team Rocket!"

Yeah, the way Quartz found out about Hiver was that he realized a bit late that Spes wasn't really Spes, and Hiver was just pretending to be him. He called her out, and she left only to show up a bit later as a Mesprit and pretended once again to be someone else, but this time, Quartz saw through it right away and re-caught her. She did say that Spes was not a perfect vessel, though; he was somehow still able to fight back.

Today we had another session in our Pokémon tabletop game. We call it Pokémon Gray. Because Quartz and the rest of Team Warpstar are still stuck in the distortion world, we are with the OG team. Darius, my old OC and Neige's original trainer. It was kind of a session 0.5 for the new perspective. We learned a bit of what they had been up to and what they plan to do. They got some fake IDs and are going to sign up for the Unova Master's Initiative because the main goal, the source of all the weird things going on, is coming from N's old castle. To get there, they will have to go through the Pokémon League so they can pass through Victory Road.
Darius doesn't like the Pokémon League, though, and it is going to be rather fun to play out. A guy who doesn't care for it has to go through it anyway. We also went through a dungeon that Team Warpstar went through before, and we found echoes of them lingering around. So Darius knows of Quartz now and that a mysterious Mesprit is hanging around him. funny enough, he has Neige with him, the first version as far as I can tell. But Neige doesn't recognize Quartz. More mysteries!

This Sunday has to be one of the most peaceful days we ever had, Almost no o¿posts beyond bump. I hope you guys had a great Sunday.

Oh, thank you, but unfortunately, we are going on another hiatus. This time only for a week, but it has been quite hard to get everyone lately. I believe things should be smooth sailing from here though. I can't wait to start from square one again, but this time with Darius, who is way over leveled. The next few sessions are gonna be stomps, and I am pumped after playing Quartz, a kid who is an underdog in every way. Meet Seifritz, the cool-as-snow Ice-type specialist and a rising snowboarding sensation, Seifritz is known for his chill demeanor, sportsmanship, and competitive edge. Hailing from the distant Paldea region, a land with deep historical ties to Ibaro. Seifritz once shared the slopes with Paldea's famed Ice-type trainer, Grusha. The two were close friends and friendly rivals, both destined for greatness. However, their journey took a sharp turn when Grusha suffered a career-ending injury. The loss hit Seifritz hard, he found himself unable to move forward without his closest companion. But it was Grusha who urged him to continue, insisting that Seifritz chase his dream without him holding him back. With a heavy heart, Seifritz returned to the snow alone. Eventually, his career flourished. He traveled across regions, won trophies and became a household name. His journey eventually led him to Ibaro, where he was scouted by the local League. Though, now far away from Montenevera and in a region with few natural slopes, Seifritz is determined to leave his mark in the Ibaro region and hopefully honor the friend who one rode beside him.

In the Unova Master's Initiative, every team is paired with another team and forced to be rivals. You get bonus points for beating your rivals. For Quartz and Team Warpstar, our rivals were our old OCs from a game back in 2021. My GM aged them up into teenagers and drew them. here is my old OC and one of Quartz's rivals, he needs to overcome. Eifnr Blackthorn. He is from a custom region called the Barbarian Isles that is based on Scandinavia. Eifnr's lineage comes from a great Viking household, but in the modern era, the Blackthorns are simply a well-off family. Eifnr wasn't satisfied with that, though, and declared that the world would know his name and he'd conquer every Pokémon League in every region in the world.

His rival and best friend, Rashin, was the only person who had ever beaten him back when he was 11. If not for that loss, Eifnr might not have gotten the drive he needed to pursue his goals. He was a big fish in a small pond, and Rashin opened his eyes to that. Other than that, he looks up to his grandfather, who was the person who told him stories about their clan. Those stories inspired him to reclaim the honor and fame his family had back when they were seafarers. Of course, in the modern era, it isn't right to pillage villages. So instead, he pillages gyms and competitions with his Pokémon.

Night bump

It is night, i am about to head off for bed, I don't mean to spam but I figured I'd share Gabrie's full team as they are now. The thread image is a bit old, and some of them have evolved.
Here is the first Pokémon, named MeiWei (A My Way pun). Because Gabriel is special (as he used to be a Pokémon for a few years) he can speak to Pokemon. MeiWei is a pure-hearted demon from hell. He can see the souls of the dammed, and his egg was found when the earth opened up and spat it out. He is a Nidorino right now and doesn't like fighting, making it kind of hard for Gabriel to get him to help in a battle. Sometimes Gabriel tells him to hug others, knowing that he will poison them in the process. His poison is special. Instead of infecting the enemy with poison, he bewitches them into loving him unconditionally.

This is Flow, the first of the trio Gabriel caught when he made his way to the human world and became a trainer. Together with Slick and Tumble, they make up "Team Revengeance". They came up with the name and told Gabriel that they were searching for people.
Flow is male and lax natured. He has the highest win percentage out of Gabriel's Pokémon, thanks in part to his high special damage. He has a good boos to it thanks to a custom ability the GM gave him that gives him more damage if he stands still in a fight. I think it is a reference to Final Fantasy 14's black mage.

This is Slick. Gabriel is an agent for Interpol, and Slick has taken to the secret agent feel the best. He is stealthy, follows orders to the letter, and often goes above and beyond the mission. He really enjoys it. He has a special move that are water knives that bypass the enemy's defense (it is absolutely busted, I feel guilty using it sometimes). Gabriel found out that despite naming them, he and the other members of Team Revengeance had names before, and Slick's name was originally Raphael. His nature is mild.

The last member of Team Revengeance is Tumble. She is the strong woman of the group, able to lift things others can't, climb up walls, anything athletic. Slick might win the race, but Tumble wins the marathon. Tragedy struck when, somehow, she fell into a sleep that she couldn't wake from. Trappe dint he dreams world until recently when we rescued her. Her special sauce is that she has double the HP she should have, by being able to go into negative numbers. However, if she falls too low, she might die, so there is a risk in pushing too far with it. She is hasty natured and despite being the tank, she has the lowest win rate on Gabriel's team.

This is Sable, she is a Sableye. Gabriel was friends with her in the PMD world. However, she might have ties, along with Gabriel and his bestie Raziel, to the Pokémon village in Kalos. Not sure how that connects, but we are going there this Tuesday to find out. Sable had memory loss due to her son dying, and has been in a depressive mood ever since she got those memories back. Her nature is careful, and somehow she knows how to hack into computer systems.

The Pokémon Village seems to be a focal point for Gabriel's story, with seemingly all of his Pokémon having something tying them to it. The Team Revengeance trio came from there and are searching for a baby version of Xernies named X, who set up the Pokémon settlement and then abandoned it, so they want to kill him. Raziel wants to go there to find his aunt and wants to kill her. Gabriel's name has come up a few times concerning X, but he doesn't remember ever meeting him. X blessed several Pokémon with the names of angels, who are all older siblings or parents to Gabriel's current team, dubbed "Team Archangels". They are dead, we found their souls trapped inside of the bodies of the other players of the game, trying to take control of them and transform them into their proper vessels through something the GM dubbed "Ego Death." And I do mean actual transformation, like the other players are on a time limit before they are turned into Pokémon and effective get a game over for their PCs.

She's a Poison-Type Specialist who was previously a Dark-Type Specialist, but after many crushing defeats and the loss of one of her team members, she decides to change to the Poison-Type because it resists all of the Dark-Types weaknesses, pushing herself to the top and eventually surpassing her rival- becoming the champion & the final obstacle on their journey.

It works off an honor system. You check boxes when you submit a piece of work based on what you drew and how detailed it is. And the points are added up. You get bonus points for drawing more than one person in a single image, so at the end of every ArtFight, you will see some insane people who drew over 100 characters on a single page, or even a full animation indicative of an anime OP to farm the most points last second.

It sounds like it works on paper but this system above all else really just rewards whoever has the most time on their hands as well as who has the most artistic skill, and there's nothing preventing someone from just samefagging to call someone a rollwhore, even a simple sketch could be considered a rollwhore post from some people who can achieve such in like ten minutes. This kind of thing might work on something like a forum or a private Discord server but not on 4chan because of the several complications caused by the nature and format of this website. I would set up the server and use Foundry VVT with the Pokerole system to keep track of everyone's stats. It is super simple and easy to understand, unlike PTU, so converting your OCs to the system would be a piece of cake. We could have used Foundrey's built-in communications or a website like Jitsi to keep ourselves somewhat anonymous.
Organizing everyone may be a challenge. I can see it as having multiple days with people divided up when most convenient for them, and having a converging storyline. Or if we have a lot of people in one day, I could divide time and go it a round robin until everyone had some of the spotlight and repeat it until we adjourn.
As for the rules of the hunger game event itself, I'd like it if to keep things manageable, we restrict the OCs to either their starters, favorite Pokémon, or at most 3 of their choice.
This is at least a rough draft of an idea, and we can refine it from here, of course.

I tried my best but I couldn't fully do her design justice, I also had to redo the drawing. I have no idea how to do hair but she should have less puffy hex maniac-like hair. If I can I'll give her her hat and cape later but it's pretty late. I called her Rainey, also a real name surprisingly. Misty, Rainey, haha. Maybe she would be Ame or something in japanese. First time I think about it.
Basically, she's Misty's chuunibyo daughter who, after being inspired by videos of Agatha's battles I kept around to study, started pretending to be a channeler and a witch. Despite this she's similar to Misty personality-wise so the two argue a lot and I have to, in my imagination, set them aside to calm them down, but that usually just has the kid walk away on her own while Misty yells at her.
She is a talented battler but likes to be dramatic in her battles and wastes time with diversions and theatrics. She makes it work but mostly because she's using pokemon me or Misty lent to her for practice, and later to fill in as the Cerulean gym leader as a test to see if she could handle the responsibility. She fails this because she decorated the gym to look dilapidated and used stronger pokemon than she should to scare the challengers away.
The Poliwag comes later, when I give her the task of raising her own pokemon. After "catching" him, she calls him Konjac due to him being wobbly and dull. The scare quotes are there because she picked him up from the river on route 24 and he just surrendered to his fate. Obviously, his nature is lax.
Classic odd-couple stuff. Fiery dramatic kid trying to make a barely there pet match her pace. All Konjac is good at at the start is using the roundness of his body to parry attacks, and all Rainey is good at at the beginning is copying Agatha but much less efficiently.

She knows of her mom's Politoed and has never liked how goofy it looked, and she knows of Poliwrath on the other lane but has no interest in fighting types, so she's between copying her mom or using a pokemon type she doesn't have an inkling of an interest in. She'd also be frustrated that she can't amount to much without the pokemon of her parents and that she's stuck with a pokemon that kind of just sits there and has to be forced to train. Konjac is like one of those funny gimmicky mons from the anime, think something between Ash's Muk and that one Belsprout that swept Ash's team until he sent out Muk. He literally let's himself be rolled around as a defense mechanism when attacked, dispersing the power of the attacks. But that's not cool or flashy or creepy so Rainey wants to get rid of him as soon as she can and get herself a "proper pokemon".
I imagined she would eye the Jynx trade in Cerulean city for when Konjac evolves, but the guy in the game was pretty old. I never went for it either so if I'm interpreting the world she lives in as my last Leaf Green playthrough, it should still be there but no idea if he would be alive like 15/20 years later.

The threads likely died out due to a long-term lack of content. Those threads produced some interesting concepts but I don't think anyone ever actually did anything with them, so they got stale. I recently gave Ivy an updated look to make her feel a bit more mature, nurse-like, and feminine. She also reads a bit more like a fighting game character to me now which is a plus. Anyways, enjoy some sketches of her new fit.

I tried my hand at animating the rightmost Ivy sketch since it shares the same pose as a keyframe from an old pixel animation I did of Ivy a long while ago. Not as clean or punchy as the pixel version nor is it the full combo but I think it came out alright.

As it turns out, there was a path for Quartz's starter to become the antagonist if I didn't treat her right. I was told recently that I had successfully avoided that path, but I still like the idea that Quartz's own starter was going to be one of the main villains of the story.
