But then that doesn't really make sense to me because he has a passive where he's expected to be hit regularly to punish the opponent and buff the team. So idk how they expect people to use him. so far i've done one ten-roll on the selene/necrozma+lunala banner and i got her. i only rolled on it because i like her and lunala and gen 7 is my favorite gen.
is she good? did i waste gems? i really have no idea what i should be trying to do in this game. should i be leveling lots of characters or just one really strong team of 3?

I stopped playing this game a couple of months ago and just check back in for login gems every now and then. My schedule opened up a bit so I'm thinking of getting back into it. Is the current Summer Cynthia any good? She seems extremely bulky.
I'm also a big fan of the GS birds so both of the upcoming arc suits look cool to me too. How do all of the three units (Cynthia, Silver, and Ethan) measure up competitively? I probably won't be able to get more than one.

>>57965386Arc Ethan is the best unit of the month since he has EX Flying Zone (Flying Zone that gives a 3x power boost instead of 1.5x) and is actually good on top of that since he has a 900 power B Move nuke and the ability to flinch when attacking. I would say if you had to choose just 1, get him. Or just save since 6th Anni is near, and likely Kieran next month if you like him.
Arc Silver is kind of wonky in terms of playstyle but if you don't have EX Sun he's pretty good value for 1/5 condensing tanking and flinching with that EX Sun effect.
Summer Cynthia is a solid Support who can absorb and potentially negate 2 big AoE hits for the team (like enemy Sync) and has a clutch self-revival effect, so she's all about big defense. I think she's a good unit but the meta is heading toward sustaining high damage output with EX weather/terrain/zone so people may prefer Supports that can fuel those better. So someone like SS Kris has more value for being able to feed extra EX Rain uptime to NC May because of the way the uptime works, where Summer Cynthia would conditionally edge her out on stages with stuff like OHKO moves that matter more to be played around. In the same vein, Arc Silver is nice but not as good as NC Brendan backed by SS Morty feeding extra EX Sun uptime.
So I would say
Arc Ethan >>>>> Summer Cynthia >=(?) Arc Silver
Oh and last thing is that Arc Ethan is structured to be very good for several modes in the game: Battle Rally, Damage Challenge, Legendary Gauntlet, Champion Stadium, etc. In Rally his reliance on Thunder Wave for stat setup means he can be used across multiple rounds if need be. In DC he can spam empty Thunder Waves to bridge his Syncs for fast-paced play to game the clock. In LG he can flinch his way over enemies, with paralysis for the likes of Tornadus and Uxie and Flying Zone for Terrakion and sure hit + debuffing for Latias. In CS he's so good he can solo Off-Type for full points if played well.

NC Nate for example has Unova Circle Physical on top of Dragon Zone. Dragon Zone gives him 1.5x power. With 3 teammates from Unova, NC Nate gets 1.4x from his circle. So that's 2.1x the power.
As for the delays you're talking about, it depends on context, but it could be a matter of the tactics you set in terms of what order your units are attacked in. That can have an effect on execution timing, since for instance if a Sun on entry setter is 1st to be targeted and a Rain on entry setter is 3rd to be targeted, Rain will be the field effect that wins out and gets to stay on the field.
I'm torn... I don't want to pull for barely summer summer-pairs (and especially don't want to support ANOTHER Cynthia). I don't care for meta pairs anymore as I don't try the ultra extreme difficulty content. But I have little hope for future waifu pairs that pull my interest.
I could pull more for Skyla, she's not bad. I could wait for anniversary for that Paldean pair hinted at (likely Kieran & Carmine, but we'll see). Or I could just let my 100K gems sit and grow and hope. But its been so long since a pair announcement made me excited.
