Geeta was literally just testing them. She only used Glimmora and a couple of Glimmets. It was a 1 v 3.

Nemona did kinda the same. She used only Pawmot and Ribombee - the latter being a Pokémon she was never shown to use in any game. It's supposed to show how much Roy grew as a trainer, he's not weak.
