I don't give a shit about Ash himself, but his anime was definitely more fun than Horizons. Episodic is the way to go. The continuity of Horizons pulled me in early on, but the spell has worn off, lol. The payoffs aren't worth waiting for and the story isn't well written.

I totally understand why a lot of you are still wowed by the continuity, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume this is the only anime you watch if that's the case. Other shows deliver and have an actual plan... Horizons is winging it AND the execution is really, really inconsistent. I have a checklist of a capture candidate with 5 criterias from which only 3 out of 5 have to be matched to consider it. Made it because a fair amount of posts were kinda shutting any suggestions that weren't "Cutemon only for Liko, Coolmon only for Roy"

>Can the species lore of the Pokemon translate into the happening of the story?
>Is it from a recent gen or from a latest batch of merch? (Plus points for Paldea Pokemon to keep it Gen 9-centric)

I think by setting down a few self-imposed rules like that you can get a bit more creative by limiting the choices beyond visual factors.
