Flareon can ohko Jellicent. Leafeon will also ohko Jellicent if the try to use the bonus damage (either 5 energy in play because of munkidori, or at least 3 damage on Jellicent from attaching 4 energy). Of course nothing is predictable when item lock shenanigans are involved.

The point was moreso that latias/rayquaza/groudon/kyogre were core tied to oras. Them returning wouldnt make much sense in kalos ZA. ZA isn't a core series game, it's like PLA, stuff will be cut we wont get everything like main series games do.
The TCG doesn't care about that and we have what seems to be a trademarked set "Storm Emeralda" for mega rayquaza already. If ray is getting a card then the primals almost certainly will as well, even if none of them are in ZA

What fighting type Pokémon are there for Mega Lucario to power up? I've been looking at Salvatore into Mega Lucarios T1 as some kind of hyper offense deck, but it's a lot of moving parts to get Salvatore and TEF Drilbur in hand on the first turn, and I don't actually know what would be worth powering up.

Well, for starters, because most lists aren’t running Arven in the first place to play around Item lock. Sparkling Crystal still requires 1 Energy; Neo Upper pays the full cost. Crystal loses to Jamming Tower, which many decks (including Pult) are on at least a copy of.

Current builds don't even run crispin to cheat energy, it's all manual attachments and playing slow with budew. Crystal benefits a lot from crispin allowing you to cheat ahead in attachments.
I still think no crispin, crystal or neo upper in dragapult is griefing, you get early ko'd you're just fucking dead. And there's no spare time to attach to munki or for retreating in that scenario

I used to feel the same way until I started running a modified version of some decks that did well in New Orleans. Crystal is great if you run Rare Candies and 0/1 Drakloak, but then you get fucked by Budew. If you go the slower, draw-heavy route with zero candies and 4 Drakloaks, you won’t need the crystal or Crispin since it’ll take multiple turns to get a Dragapult anyway, making a single turn setup unnecessary. Those pre-stage 2 turns are used for searching, pulling with Drakloak, and attaching energy as needed. Also, Jamming Tower is great to run yourself if you ever encounter a Cynthia deck or any team that uses Bravery Charm. Also also, Crispin doesn’t work with special energy, so you’d have to go Psychic (and maybe dark for monke) energy instead of Luminous.

Do you want fun or good? Personally I find Rocket's Porygon really fun with how quickly you cycle through cards and dealing upwards of 300 damage with single prizers. The issue is that it's not very good, so if you want to consistently win then it's not a good choice.
Some people also find mill decks fun but it's all personal taste.

Is there ever a reason to use Shaymin over Rabsca? It just feels so consistently useless.

Rabsca covers more for the price of being a stage 1. You can Nest Ball Shaymin and it's good to go, Rabsca needs either another turn of setup or TM evo to start protecting, plus its basic stage has 50hp.
Also if you run two Shaymins and prize one you've got a spare, if you prize either Rellor or Rabsca you've got nothing.

They're mostly collector sets, that's why they got so much support within the set because they're 1 time thing, even tho it's still not enough to compete vs decks that have had years of support.

The TCG doesn't really follow the game power levels, which I think is a good thing. It means there's often times where bad game pokemon end up with strong meta cards. Budew is one of the best cards currently despite being completely forgotten everywhere else in the pokemon franchise

Feels like people really have an outdated view of gardevoir in general. It was that way, back when your turn was fog crystal (shuffle) into refinement into level ball (shuffle) in refinement into fog crystal (shuffle) into refinement into shining arcana into ultra ball (shuffle) finally using a supporter into mysterious tail (shuffle) and then finally getting around to actually using psychic embrace. Nowadays you have one longer turn with secret box and then the game plays itself.
