There is no more secrets in literally any games because of the internet. Everything is already datamined and recorded before the games even come out. It has nothing to do with Pokémon.

Damn I remember that time when the board was going crazy trying to figure out how to evolve Finizen into Palafin. Still quite amazed at how that "secret" still took several days to crack in this modern day and age. Felt like that was really one of the last secrets ever to exist in Pokemon.

Yeah, people lost their fucking minds trying to find out what makes Toxel evolve into different forms. People felt really stupid when the answer turned out to be the nature, when many other far more complex things were considered and tested.

Although what made Palafin so special is the fact that it was literally impossible for the first players to evolve it, because they played the leaked emulator or pre-release copies. They couldn't use the online feature.
