I think what someone else said regarding some dev being really into Silver is on the money. I'm a Johto fan but I don't see the need to push Silver this much. It boggles my mind that they're this aimless that they feel the need to do this. They could've done NC Ethan with Raikou and NC Lyra with Entei to complete the beasts, they could've done Arc Suit Morty with Mega Gengar (Shiny would be perfect there), they could've done Arc Suit Lance and Mega Gyarados as a Johto unit (again Shiny would be ideal) since Pallet Town will represent Kanto anyway, etc. Them making Giovanni Guzzlord a Johto MF of all combinations and then doing Johto Legendaries as Arc just looks like a disorganized malfunctioning mess.
If they wanted to do something cool and unique, they could've had Arc Suit Ethan with Ho-Oh as a Flying unit released alongside Arc N for the collaboration, then swap Selene/Elio with Juliana/Florian/May/Brendan to better balance the unit distribution. But they just want to be lazy and don't genuinely care about Arc beyond its capacity to excuse them as they run wild making premium rehashes.

The kids I know personally are into the TCG and TCG Pocket. They don't play the mainline and I think they only know a modest amount about the anime. I tried to get one of my cousin's kids into the mainline some years ago but she just got bored in the starting areas and wanted to do something else. It was FRLG, XY, and SM iirc. There's too much going on these days for the younger generation to not get their instant gratification from something and want to stick with it.

Normally I'd be tempted to try for Arc Suit Silver but being yellow candy only while not being self sufficient until 4/5 demotivates me from even gambling toward a 1/5

Silver losing was tasteful. He already got the win on Lance so I guess they can't give him too many victories. I guess that means he won't beat Giovanni either but maybe they'll team up which might make for better kino. Silver is one of the only characters that gets flashbacks to game events I noticed. Silver and Ethan are pretty much the only ones they really flesh out the rivalry aspect at all for too. So much favoritism. Pretty much no other character besides him and N get this level of care in the writing.

Also, Clair is impossible to use with Auto. I have Ampharos, WigglyWhitney, and her. Spams Draco Meteor only. Never resets negative stats, never increases crits with Amphy, and amazingly neither Support uses Potion and choose to die. Because -6 Draco is just that good I guess.

Well relatively. Inherently the standards are pretty low. I didn't put the asterisk but I mean when they do try. It's pretty clear when they actually try at all with the story. I'm not talking about the usual happy go lucky holiday shit or OH NO that crazy Team Break again. For starters it was a pretty definitive loss instead of the usual tie or fade to white. While this was pretty much the usual [I'm sad, POKÉMON™, I'm happy, the end] but it was at least slightly more elaborate than that. I don't like how heavily he gets wanked all the time but I was just saying at least his "pure heart" wasn't actually stronger than Ethan's pure soul. His entire character trait is pretty much just CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT which in his case is really just gap moe. Anyways my point is the devs do try harder with Silver than the usual template shit.

Silver, regardless of how shitty Arc Suit rehashes are, is one of the best-written, if not THE best-written character in Masters. The only other character who gets this sort of consistent story development and character depth is N, and even then N is kind of an artificial bishounen. Silver has stories that overlap with numerous other characters, including N. Giovanni is the main antagonist of Masters, he appears frequently, and even if he's kind of a static character, Silver also gets ton of overlap with him, and their connection is very tantalizing. Ethan, one of the most venerated protagonists by virtue of being you when you overcome your past self, is elevated simply because the rivalry with Silver is so good. They hardly touch upon Wally being a rival. They made the Sinnoh protagonist Dawn, so Barry being her rival doesn't work as well as it would if it had been Lucas. N gets all the fujo service with Hilbert. Hugh is hardly associated with Nate or Rosa, and Nate is the Battle Subway partner anyway. Kalos doesn't even have decent rivals. But Silver manages to stay fresh and offers something that Blue doesn't.

I could see them doing Arc Suit Red and Blue for anni, though they could also do it for “March” since the update would cover Pokemon Day and therefore the 30th anniversary of the franchise. PMEX anni is “September” anyway.
Otherwise at this point I have no clue who else they’d do. Iris, Diantha, maybe Kukui? But probably fucking Lillie because there’s no way it’d be Elio or Selene. They literally just broke every pattern imaginable, but 99% of characters that could work that aren’t League Champions have already received their nice neat character arcs as Neo Champions. Silver ended up with BOTH anyway.
They did Leon so maybe they’d do Geeta, although I could see them using Nemona instead.

At this rate it really will be 25 of these things distributed every 2 months until next year's anniversary. The absolute best written character in Masters is Rose. They gave him a justifiable cause with his desire to use sync stones to create technology that would benefit the future. And no one could answer him about why can't people just demonstrate their bonds in absence of heavy sync stone reliance. It was especially good writing about how he had the tech experts on his side and even Maxie and Colress who are big into R&D, and then on top of that how he flipped on Giovanni with awareness of their blunt mutual using of each other.

I agree. Rose got the best redemption. In the source material he had no time to breathe at all and was seen as a joke. But in Masters he was able to demonstrate being a brilliant businessman and negotiator. They also were able to depict him as sincere in wanting to help but also not being fully good with how he treats people like Bede and how all or nothing he is about his causes.

You have a good point that they could save Arc Red and Blue for the 30th Anni/Masters half Anni. Honestly I feel like they already addressed the Arcs they wanted to aside from those two by now, by prioritizing the OG champs, Leon, and N. I feel like the rest don't matter to them as much which is why they played Johto the way they did with the repercussions it came along with. The one thing I'm like 75% confident in is that Arc Diantha will be in the late November slot this year where Leon was last year. That way, they would capitalize the maximum on PLZA release nostalgia/fondness for her.

I hate how this release breaks all patterns. Not only there's a 2nd fire arc suit now, but also an arc suit of a sygna suit, when arc suits were previously believed to be based on a character's basic sync pair.

Personally I don't care about the Galar MCs getting MFs, I just want them to give Leon a new MF with a cool noble armored outfit, like with a Shiny Aegislash to represent SwSh or a Corviknight. I disagree primarily because Flying was way more starved for choices of an Arc candidate, not to mention that SS Ethan is pretty outdated in playstyle. He skips a turn to build SMUN and then they revisited that but more productive with NC Cheren alternating between move and B Move. Silver felt like way more of a forced inclusion.

Although all of that relies on the idea that the endgame of this arc will be any more interesting than these individual chapters.

The stadium makes no difference, the level of starting HP does. Grimsley's stage has the standard level of HP found in all of CS, common as well in the stadiums you mentioned. That level, when compounded with capped Strength and capped HP at the same time, is already unapproachable for solo runs without needing to consider reaching the even bulkier starting HP stages. You would have to reduce the scope to something like Wise Entry x2/3, which he wouldn't have a problem beating normally for the sake of beating but would misrepresent his damage scaling for the sake of a general showcase since it's an unavoidable raw cut from a relatively small sample size of stages. Even with a mixed attacker like Arc Lance it would make for a poor showcase by virtue of not being able to accurately represent how both the physical Sync and special B Move evenly scale high. As for UBs, the mechanics are not in a vacuum, as they come with higher HP which is less approachable than hitting a CS benchmark for a solo, as said before. And regarding DC, the Flying stage out right now is ST and Gloria (Alt 2) already surpassed the 1M benchmark solo long before Arc Ethan was made, so him doing well wouldn't be as novel of a showcase.

I honestly thought it was nice that they were showing the champions finding new growth inspiration in the arc prelude chapters, but it's crazy that they figured they could just copy paste for everyone else. It's repetitive slop and utilizing characters like Silver who just advanced makes zero sense.

It does make me want Silver a bit more but he seems pretty reliant on high investment after seeing the guy went to 4/5 and then had to candy again for 5/5 for some of the battles. So I think I can live without him if he really wants all that. I already have Ethan, couldn't pass on Bug and Flying Arcs.

Someone spoonfeed how to beat AS Silver and Ethan with a fire and flying pair on your team, I rolled for both of them but their stupid attacks only power themselves up and no other pairs can last against them, I could only beat it with AS Cynthia and NC Silver
