On January 25th, 2016, I began monitoring our board, every night for at least one hour, for any mention of anyone's favorite Pokémon. I did not miss one single 24 hour cycle of dutifully checking every reasonable thread for any mention of anyone's favorite Pokémon until November 1st, 2019, at which point I began only checking once a week, until March 4th, 2021, at which point I gave this autistic shit up altogether.

I adhered strictly to the following guidelines:
>erase any Pokémon that anyone claims as their "bro"
>erase any Pokémon that anyone claims as their "favorite", including simply posting a pic of said Pokémon in a "favorite Pokémon" or similarly designated thread
>even if someone talks about the favorite of someone else they know, erase ‘em
>attempting to claim a full evolution line as either "bro" or "favorite" disqualifies the claim

I honestly forgot I did this, just stumbled back upon it and thought I’d share. I know the Carkol thread will outlive my sentiments here, but I did get a smile looking at this image, thinking about allllllll those many ‘mons over the years that I got to see chosen, and hoped to share that smile with you. It's like a very outdated /vp/-wide Nobody's Favorite Pokémon Pokédex??

Look, I don't know what the fuck drove me to do this, but the point is that if I had kept keeping track these last four years, there wouldn’t be a single one of these Pokémon left behind. Love you guys and never change

I'm noticing a trend with the fire type starters.
A shame that no one called Zwelious, they're the coolest to me. Not necessarily my bro personally, but they're pretty damn cool, as one of the very few cases of a two headed Pokemon, and evolving into a sick hydra.

Note the Emboar and Charizard lines though.
Also, though not apart of what I noticed, Combusken is there too. Of all the Pokemon, the fire type starter lines were the least likely to be picked in their entirety. Feraligatr, Marshtomp, and Servine are the only other outliers, unless I'm missing something when I scan the rest...

Interesting how much of this data aligns with OP’s. Clearly Gen 2 is actually one of the most beloved gens in both cases. Also see how some of the most popular Pokémon tend to leave their preevolutions with nobody to claim them, like Charizard and Garchomp have.

This is especially compelling considering OP’s data stopped being collected in the same year that this survey was taken. In fact, if we cross reference this data with OP’s, we see there are plenty more Pokémon that have been claimed.

To be fair, they are competing with other stages in their evolutionary line, and this holds true with really any "what's your favorite pokemon" poll/list/etc, even if a lot of people tend to like other stages of a given line too
If you were to actually cut out entire lines that had at least one of their members selected as a favorite, leaving just lines that no one picked any members from as their favorite, you'd have a far shorter list

I kinda like Hippowdon because it's kinda cute and has great bulk + the ability to setup sandstorm automatically
also has the distinction of being the only ground type with sand stream, for some reason
i definitely like it but there's a lot of stuff in my personal top 50 that it'd have to compete with

A lot more legendary Pokemon on that list than expected. Surprised no one likes hippo or ghost jelly. They have unique designs, good stats and are inoffensive. Not shillmon level but you'd think they'd appeal to someone.

Not surprised to see some megas left out. Who would choose Mega Heracross over the original? I think the mega is neat but regular Heracross is just such a perfect design.
