In previous regions you could find all kinds of landmarks
>active volcanos
>spooky mansions/towers
>ice caverns
>ruins or shrines/temples
>hidden houses
>hidden caves
>events that only play certain at a certain time or day
>working places like the Pokeball Factory or Fuego Ironworks that flesh out the world
>Battle Facilities or extra activities and much more
>despite not being limited by HMs anymore they don't care about having any sort of enviroment interaction like move boulders to solve puzzles etc.
SV doesn't even attempt to feel like a journey or an adventure
Besides Area Zero (which is just the linear story epilogue) there's no sense of discovery or wonder, no
>"oh shit i was diving down the ocean and I emerged into a weird city inside a white crater"
moment
It's just tons and tons of boring and forgettable fields with sparkling items and other stupid collectable shit.
