I'm glad I'm not the only people that realized this. Shadow Mewtwo used to be the top dog for not just my teams, but for a lot of people's teams, but now it feels like a subpar option. Even if they made Mega Mewtwo Y even stronger than Mega Rayquaza (completely outclasses Shadow Mewtwo in all the raids you didn't mention, but that probably went without saying), it still wouldn't be that good since Mega Rayquaza boosts psychic-types in addition to flying and dragon-types. The consumers demanded, and Niantic eventually delivered, right before they nerfed remote raid passes.

But it's rather useless to me as I only have 40 mega energy, and to my recollection all the fug raids were exclusive to ticket holders. Dunno why I even bother to keep the pvp mons, but rarely I'll do battles. I have good pokemon for that already, though. Pokegenie is good for figuring out what is optimal in terms of IVs, but PvPoke is the one with the stats on the meta. I'm not surprised GBL sucks right now, it seems like great league is even worse than I thought it was a week ago. Niantic have somehow enabled the worst Pokémon from the pre-nerf meta and the post-nerf meta to dominate the format again. I'd recommend using PvPoke's team builder system to figure out what team you should run.
