Kieran experiences huge growth as a character, going from shy and timid, to angry and hate-filled towards the player for lieing to him, to later being friendly and chill. His change in motivation and appearance is a good little plot twist to the story. Silver is just a bitchy little edgelord and by the end of the story that's what he still is.

I also liked N, but found Kieran's story was more emotionally touching because you witness his struggles with inadequacy and how much being betrayed hurts him. N is really just a brat that thinks he knows better than everyone else and you're getting in his way.

Lille was also a good character with growth but she's not anywhere near as consequential to the plot as the other 3.

I don't really see how Kieran isn't more of a brat than Silver or N. Silver has a shit upbringing that influences his whole worldview, and the irony of him hating Team Rocket while also acting very much like them adds to that. N in particular was groomed to think a certain way, with Ghetsis molding him to play the role of his pawn. He spends the whole game trying to break that programming and come to terms with what he sees vs what he believed. Kieran's whole story is an inferiority complex driven by the player literally cucking him of his Pokecrush, to no fault of the player because naturally Ogerpon would be more fond of (You) and even Carmine by virtue of them both actually befriending the damn thing. And then he has to go and make his own unironic incel behavior everyone else's problem right up until you beat him, where he becomes a little more passive again. His whole plot just feels like a humiliation ritual.
Beyond all that, I don't really care for any of these stories very much at all (besides N who I think is pretty alright by series standards) so I don't necessarily understand anyone latching onto these characters in such a possessive manner as they often do.
