One Pokemon. Three stat lines (486, 600, 708). Megas typically add 100 BST, without touching HP. Which BST are they working from? 50%? Will Zygarde Complete lose 8 BST if it mega evolves? Will it lose all the HP that it gained? Will 10% straight up gain 214 BST upon mega evolving even without Power Construct as an ability? Would they consider a 808 BST Mega Zygarde, building off of Complete's BST?

It's leaked to be based on Complete Zygarde design wise and those stats would be terrifying so I bet you can only Megaevolve Zygarde when it's in its complete form

Why? High risk, high benefit. Zygarde is good on its own, if you keep it alive with half its HP it becomes even better and if you also have its megastone assuming it needs one it becomes God

Just odd. A mega stone that only works if it has a certain ability, and only after that ability has been activated? And you have to activate the mega stone to use it - do you activate it every turn until your ability actually procs?

Perfect Zygarde needs something better than power construct, that's for sure. Aura Break would be something at least, just nothing amazing. Something unoriginal is giving Zyggy its own ground aura, while also keeping the effects of aura break when facing Xerneas & Yveltal

If anything, I'd imagine the potential mega Zygarde is the one getting a new ability along with a major redistribution somehow

They will all change into the same form. Megas don't add stats to what's already there, they're effectively new Pokemon.

I don't think there will be different forms. I'm just primarily wondering which set of stats they'd base the mega on, and if Complete would lose the HP it's form grants it.

If Rayquaza is allowed to mega-evolve without the need of a megastone, gain a ludicrous stat buff that makes him capable of one shooting the competition, an ability that reduces his four times weakness to ice and outright removes his rock weakness and just straight up prevents any other weather from activating making it pretty much unstoppable. If Rayquaza is allowed to have all that. I see no reason why another legendary pokemon shouldn't get the same treatment. Especially when said Legendary originates from the region where Mega-evolution came from.

you know how zygarde's dex entries state how its various forms are mean to monitor and control the environment to keep things balanced?
it'd be cool if it had different variants with different typings adapted to various environments

I'm not really worried about it being too strong. If nobody else is, then the easiest route would be:
>Base the Mega off of Zygarde-Complete with +100 to its stats for a grand total of 808.
>Allow Zygarde 10% and 50% to both the mega stone to reach this form, with no ability requirement.
>Give Mega Zygarde Aura Break or some other ability (not Power Construct).
Boom, done.
It basically nearly every mega rule (gains way more than 100 base stats, HP skyrockets) but its simple and straightforward.
