Ignoring the fact that typhlosion was already in the last legend games along with Samurott and the owl making this whole thread retarded, I’d just like to remind everyone in that the same leaks that predicted Dragonite’s mega also said there would be 5 mystery megas. Who’s to say the remaining Johto-Unova starters won’t be within that 5. they’d even have 2 left to over for whatever shillmons they want.
Regionals are basically their own Pokémon and heavily linked to their region so in a hypothetical johto game they could just not have Hisuain Typhlosion there. But with how often megas show up in spin-offs and such, it’s much more important for all member of a trio to have parity with ability to mega or not. Reminder the Hoenn starters didn’t all get their megas at the same time, and slowpoke and quite a few other proved a Pokémon can have more than one type of form.

This is what people don't understand. You CANNOT have a starter Pokémon have the rep of a sexual predator. Granted Charizard is most certainly more popular among the general audience but also keep in mind Charizard is in 99.99 percent of all Pokémon media ever created where as typhlosion’s relative lack of appearances has been a talking point for over a decade, so it’s popularity being anywhere near Charizard’s shows an almost surreal level of organic popularity.
