I've decided to collect a mostly complete non-holo English Expedition, Aquapolis, and Skyridge set over the next several years. Also, VS series and Vending. I'm not being too picky on condition as long as they look nice sleeved in my binder.

Honestly I would recommend you buy 2 of the Japanese box of Terastal Fest. Cheap and a ton of hits for opening fun. This was the first box of Pokemon cards I opened all year long because of the fucked up pricing and availability. I mean you probably won't get lucky enough to get an SAR Eeveelution like I did since the Eevees aren't guaranteed but you are guaranteed 1 random SAR so if you wanna go for it I'd do it.

As a rule of thumb, don't preorder singles/buy singles on or near release, the prices will eventually stabilize and go down usually
His main point was to prioritize buying sealed, but if buying singles get them for a reasonable price and don't give scalpers money

What he was wrong about was the speed at which evolving skies went up after it went out of print
The truth that people want to ignore is that ALL sealed product eventually goes up in price, just usually takes 5-10 years before it's meaningful
That we're in a scalper market with manipulation going on right now and things go up then down so fast isn't normal and couldn't be predicted

Most of the collectors from two years ago are out of the hobby, mostly just spectators at this point.
A lot of new people in the hobby now, the guys from two years ago are more and more selective of what and when they buy.
Its truly only suckers buying up product now. Luckily for them theres A LOT of suckers in the market now so its got its own self sustaining sucker economy. Dont get caught up in the sucker economy.

yeah this. They may also take out cards from the JP set and have it as a promo for English. The biggest example of this is the three og Eevees that should have been in our Eevee set (evolving skies). The special art V's and VMAX's were originally in Eevee Heroes(JP eevee set), but taken out and put into promo boxes for us. Pic rel. My guess is they didn't want to bloat the set any further since that set was already huge
