to be fair to DeNA, younger boy characters can be hard to when you're not using child/teen actors: men are naturally too deep and need to falsetto, and while women are close in pitch there are various sex-based differences in speech they need to account for.

Also yeah, I agree male VAs would pretty much always sound wrong one way or another, while female VAs are at least slightly better on a shota. I think I've only ever heard a single male VA who could vaguely fit Kiki, against the dozens of female VAs I've listened to while waiting for Kiki to get into the game, where I'd often think something along the lines of "yeah if she got hired for Kiki I wouldn't mind"/"fuck yeah she should absolutely voice Kiki". Off the top of my head, the only shotas in the game voiced by men going high-pitched are Hau and Wally, while the others are either women or just men using their normal voices. (I'm exclusively talking about Japanese voice acting here by the way, I know jack shit about English-language VAs.)
I remember someone on /Kiki/ way back in the past who mentioned they could get an actual young boy to voice him, but with youth comes inexperience, and someone that young probably wouldn't have the necessary professional training unless they were in the industry for years already. In other words, even that option could've potentially botched Kiki lol.

In Masters Juliana is the canonical protagonist and Florian is a dude from an alternate universe who jumped through a random portal. Everyone knows Juliana but nobody knows Florian but they just accepted him since he explained identical events that took place in his universe.

The only other characters who were clearly stated to be from another universe are Rose and Oleana who show up from before Rose goes full retard and people get him to change his ways since everyone else is from the post SWSH timeline. They basically fixed his entire character and made him a cool dude.

Catching them on Pasio is usually just the weird ones like Nemona and Iono finding paradox pokemon. Characters have their full teams they just dont use them and sometimes they just get them from other characters. Gloria has Zacian because she's the canonical protagonist, Inteleon because it's her starter, Urshifu because she went to Isle of Armor, and Cinderace because Hop gave her an egg.

Juliana should have Skeledirge and Nemona should have Meowscarada since Clavell has the duck and Juliana should have Ogrepon because she already dealt with Kieran's shit.

Selene and Elio aren't allowed to do the story because they would have had to make one the canonical champion which would put them above all the other protags. The game treats the champions as the current champions and they hold neo champion events so the protags and rivals can effectively become champion equivalent.

Alola is the only region that never has a champion present when they all meet to discuss Neo champions because Kukui isn't the champion he was the first challenger. Alola only got neo champions because Lance elected them on Kukuis recommendation

Why do people like Keiran?

I just finished teal mask and indigo disk, and I want input, considering i'm looking at what is apparently the #77th Kieran thread.

The story seemed like a higher concept take on what emotional abuse can do to people, but otherwise it seems like it was done very badly and without thought to the fact that it had to be crammed into a game for 8 year olds.

The result is a bipolar story where you cuck/NTR tails the fox until he becomes a school shooter, only to continue doing it, with no narrative differences until he finally breaks and accepts his place on the totem poll.

Are people self identifying as the bullied? As the angry loner?

Is it just because you all want to fuck the child?

People like him because he feels genuine and human. The game takes quite a bit of time to flesh him out in a wider context, you're shown his family, his little hick town's culture, what he likes outside of being a Trainer, and this makes him stand out a lot compared to the average, one-dimensional Pokémon character. People don't want to "cuck" him or make him accept his place on the totem pole; they feel guilty over the game's narrative forcing them to lie to him, they want to help him get what he wants, they want to prop him up and be happy. Maybe they see themselves in him, maybe not.
A lot of us want to fuck him, but that's just one piece of the puzzle. If Anons from here only wanted to talk about wanting to fuck him exclusively, I think this general would've petered out long ago.

He's good, with some pretty decent role compression including healing, debuffs, and attack/crit buffs for either himself or an ally. He's obviously designed to be used with Juliana who's a Fighting dps, so his team options might seem restrictive on the surface, but I'd say he could work well with varied teams, either as the Fighting dps himself, or as a more "general" healer/debuffer. I'll have to try him out in different battles when he comes out, as I'm giving him full investment.
Carmine has already come out, and after trying her out a bit, in all honesty I'd say she might be slightly better than him...

So, I was reading Hitler's Brothel, which is mostly a pretty well researched historical fiction novel about a pair of Polish sisters during WW2. I thought it was pretty good, but understand that it'd wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea/had minor quibbles. Anyway, the ending/denouement/closing action of the story becomes a fuckfest of idiocy. So, there's this former SS concentration camp guard, who takes the identity of a Polish Jew to survive, spinning stories about his great resistance, and even writing a book about it, before ending up in an American nursing home. And people believe him/his disguise.
He then actively goes around throwing shitfits, complaining loudly about Germany vs England soccer matches that end in German defeats (btw, still disguised as a Polish Jew), flat out yells about Germany having victories stolen from it (BTW, still disguised as a Polish Jew) and flat out goes on praising Hitler (BTW, STILL DISGUISED AS A POLISH JEW)
And people continue to believe him (besides the MC and her friend). Genuinely can't tell who's dumber, him or the care staff.

I actually like Shuichi a lot too, the fandom does seem to ship Kokichi and Shuichi a lot which I don't do at all (even if they have some cute art together) so I see where you're coming from! I do like Kokichi's character as I find him interesting (and he's one of the more bearable cast members of V3) but I do agree it's easy to have a neutral opinion on him because his personality is so weird and hard to read. A Master Fair banner features a character with a slightly lower chance of appearing in the gacha, compared to the usual. A "premium" character, so to speak. Kiki being on a MF banner does probably imply the devs intend to capitalise on his popularity. The Lodge is this love shack thing where you can invite a character who's available for it, provided you've pulled for their pair, and if you reach level 100 friendship with them you get an alternate unit of the character paired with another mon. That would be the dating sim mechanic lol. I guess the devs haven't made many MF characters available in it only because it could possibly lock too many players out of rewards.

It's probably a general Japanese thing but don't quote me on that, haha. Maybe the ones who do avoid the leaks just want to avoid being spoiled. I'm one of those who don't mind spoilers, I do try to avoid them when I can, but with this game I need to know what's awaiting me well in advance!
The game play is similar to the original games but it's in real time, some of the mechanics are simplified (each mon only has one type weakness, immunities don't exist outside of like a single enemy iirc, the moves of playable mons are fixed) but some other elements have more complexity, with some mons having a much wider array of possible abilities and being able to do weird shit that doesn't exist in the original games. Like Kiki being able to set up a field effect that powers up Fighting attacks for example. Or like random regular mons having higher stats than Legendaries!
The challenging battles are 100% meant to push people to pull for characters they wouldn't otherwise want, and that's one of the "predatory" aspects of the game. This aspect has only gotten worse with time sadly...

Oh, that sounds interesting! I like the idea of characters being able to set up effects that can help, and random mons having higher stats also sounds nice so that each mon sounds playable! Real time Pokémon also sounds neat, I wonder if they'd ever consider that for a mainline game? I can see why forcing people to pull for certain characters just to beat the harder fights is annoying though, but I would be shocked if a game like this didn't have some way of forcing people to do that heh, I've played a few gacha games and they all did similar things.

Exactly! With a fair bit of planning around this way I managed to make sure I could always have enough to get Kiki, no matter when he dropped.
I think GF might be investigating real-time battles for ZA but I'm not sure? I kind of glazed over during those Presents sections where they showed the battles...
Oddly enough I've always managed to beat the harder fights so far (except for the ones from the new game mode) even without the specific characters, but the options are always kinda limited sadly.

I didn't watch any of the ZA Presents because I won't be buying the games, but if they do have real time battling or something similar it'd be neat! I personally don't think I'd pull characters just to beat battles if I did play Masters, I'd just aim for getting all the cute boys!

That's fair, I'm sure they don't add characters worth pulling for often! My taste in Pokégirls is similar to my taste in Pokéboys I think, in that I like the smaller girls and it just so happens my favourite two show feet as well heh, I also like Acerola a lot because she's basically a female version of Allister! I find Geeta's design a bit strange but it is unique, Lucy's design has always been really neat to me but she isn't my type of girl sadly even though I like how she looks!

Not only it's often characters I've got limited interest in, but it tends to always be the same characters getting alts over and over again with few exceptions. Got kinda tiring, I've been essentially only playing for Kiki by now!
