You can get base cheren by going through story mode, base Giovanni in the legendary adventures menu, and May, Bianca, Serena, Lillie, Kukui, and Guzma are available in most regular banners. https://pokemon.brybry.ch/masters/programme.html has everything that's going on this month if you want to get an idea of what's going on in the future. If you haven't gone through every way to get gems yet it might be a good idea to pull on the select banner for a master fair (I think the general consensus is Kris or maybe Lyra is your best bet here) and use the free fair tickets you get from the beginner's guide and the 10 free multis tickets that start on the 18th to try for more limiteds until anni. In general, you should try to not pull unless you have enough gems for a pity and are willing to go all the way to pity for a character.

What good physical Ghost options are there? I started doing the Ghost tower before realizing the only physical Ghost striker pair I have is Morty and Drifblim. Korrina's Marshadow and Cynthia's Giratina perform poorly in damage around floor 10 and on, too.

Anni generally has some of the strongest units, but anni units tend to be the same handful of normiebait characters (Red, Steven, Cynthia, Blue, etc.). It might be a good idea to get an anni unit to carry your roster while you're new, but otherwise if you don't care too much about the meta just save up to pull for your favorites.

Them not being rivals is irrelevant as the point is that it’s more common to finish ‘arcs’ with these. Silver & Bede’s primary character flaws are mainly addressed here. Their rivalries are second to that. If this arbitrary fan rule must be applied, it’s going to be an actually popular character in Dawn who has clear set up in the Summer 2025 event. Barry has more mentions of his one sided mentorship with Wake than his relationship with Palmer. Blue, Silver, Cheren, Bianca, & the Galar trio all had other NCs or actual Champions as their inspiration. Barry doesn’t fit that. We’ll see in a few months when it’s Dawn or her and Lucas.

Honestly, the characters that arent DPS who got one are the bigger winners and the most essential to get. Aura Cynthia, Sherlock Steven, Leaf, their new exclusive cookie skill are just major improvements. But you have SS Red or Leon, and their skill just leaves them with nothing after the first round of moves.

SS Red's Sun on entry may not feel as big but his Extension 5 is a big help to EX Sun. Leon is obviously not the one you go to now that Arc Leon exists, but getting a Max passive that almost exactly matches what the Arc one got gives him a new lease on life as a fast ramp unit since he can burn minimum guaranteed 4 counts on his own. A big one you missed was Arven, who got Dark Zone on entry with Extension 5. That was something he really missed as a unit since it lets him feel way more like a Dark Support than just a generic one.

I will try but I am always on the brink of gems bankruptcy, many fav trainer banners in a row in the last updates and I have some infamous luck always going for pities. Want Gladion because of Porygon line, usefulness and points for Brendan sync grid build.
AS Ethan is 6K gems away so I'll get him later before he's gone if I will be lucky with Gladion. Not sure what to expect from anni pairs, hopefully only 1 trainer I really like and no fairs or masterfairs I like on same month either.
I don't think Floor 30 in general is possible without super awakening and all, maybe 2 or 3 types can pull a Floor 30 right now, monotype clause does impact many of the current braindead powerhouse units because you need a good support for each type, with heals and debuffs if possible, even better if it comes with team endurance and EX WTZ.

Yeah I know that feeling, in 2022 I was barely getting by leading up to Anni since I had to spark in June, August, and then on Anni itself. I hope he comes easy for you. I plan on dailying him since I get the feeling they're going to lean on him as the only good special Normal unit for a long time. I think for Stage 30 we're probably going to be getting a Mega Kangaskhan to spearhead taking on that. I wouldn't count on (Normal) Arceus showing up, since if it even does I think it'd be too late.

Most content isn’t that hard and they’re constantly giving buffs to at least old limited characters. General pool characters get grid expansions every month. There’s only one mode that necessitates muh meta but they’ve stopped adding new stages to it somewhat recently and it’s permanent so no rush.

If you're asking if power creep is bad then no not necessarily. As for the latter a lot of early sync pairs have weird gimmicks and kits that don't work today. This is somewhat circumvented by them getting a better version of themselves to use. Although not every character is fortunate enough for this treatment

Best gameplay in years and actually rewarding. The people mad about it are just egotistical that they want to play a certain way yet can't keep up with others, which they're not entitled to. Even if you don't break into the 20s on each tower the game is still giving you 18K more gems for the first 10 floors at a rate of 300 gems per day, 27K if you can do the 15th floors. Anyone complaining saying this mode is worse than the other modes is outright stupid. UBs for instance sum to around 6K gems for doing them and are way more alienating out the box. Battle Rally gives only 300 gems a week, but at least gives a cake every month which is more exclusive. But even then Towers has its own exclusive elements between the Lv 200 access and the new cookies. I think they knocked it out of the park. I'm not even a giga whale who'd be able to do every floor but I still recognize the generosity and challenging fun it comes with, especially since the difficulty progresses incrementally instead of being unapproachable out the gate.

Honestly this is really only applicable for units from the first two years like SS Blue or Anniversary N. And as long as they're not a poor seasonal or some other non-fair unit then they're still open for retroactive buffs.
Pokemon Masters can be explained as a fully PvE gacha that's mostly tilted towards featurecreep rather than direct powercreep. Any unit who has a lot of debuffs, field control, and other strong utilities packed in to its kit can have nigh-permanent value, especially if it fills a needed niche for at least one of the 18 types.

You really, really don't. You're just getting bigger numbers to do higher floors. The challenge dwindles down to either you have the right type of damage to do or you don't. Don't have it? You can't finish the mode.
At least other game modes like legendary gauntlets ask you to be somewhat intelligent with how you build your teams. The answer to any floor in the tower is kill the damage sponges as fast as possible.

Some types really don't have options catered to them, like Special Rock and Normal. For me my only Special Steel is Raihon and even at EX level 180 he can't do jack shit. My teammates are Costume Jasmine and Arc Steven who are also EX 180s so it's not like I'm relying on Genpool to progress.

Not necessarily since refraining from pulling on banners or dropping candies is also refraining from investing, but it is a gacha game so "bad game design" doesn't apply in the same way it does to a mainline where you pay ahead of time for a fully defined product. Yes, because the fact of the matter is these materials didn't even exist before and you were content leaving all your units at 150 which was the maximum. If this game mode didn't exist they'd still be at just 150 and you'd be happy, so it's undeniably entitlement to want the new maximum instead of just remaining at 150 as if nothing happened at all. Hell, they even gave you 180 to put all your new units to without strings attached. I haven't even promoted any of my units to 200 because it's unnecessary, and only 1 who's my favorite is at 180 when I can promote a ton. So yeah I recognize it as entitlement and a lack of self control.
