ill admit it has a dragonair sphere at the near tip of its tail and little Dragonair-ish wings on its... arms for some reason. but that's it, and those are hardly related to what people LIKE about dragonair in the first place.
then it has giant random fearow wings on its head and is still not slim or elegant at all (it's tail is a bit longer (?)) so it still just looks like 99% Dragonite but worse. it looking bad therefore has nothing to with taking Dragonair characteristics (which it hardly does), but with keeping it's Dragonite ones and gaining completely unrelated ones on top of that which make the design totally unbalanced.
if it had TRULY taken relevant Dragonair characteristics, it would have something like it's cooler eyes, or spirally wings on its head instead those unrelated ones it got, and would probably look less fat. and guess what? that would look good.
claiming mega Dragonite looks bad because it took from Dragonair is disingenuous at best because the real reason Mega Dragonite looks bad is it didn't take nearly ENOUGH from Dragonair at all, and instead gained ugly unrelated stuff (not that Fearow's wings look bad on their own, they just look bad on someone's head and not shrunk down at all)
