Normal should hit neutral to everything and be hit neutral by everything.
Everything else should be half against itself.
There should be no total immunities
I can't be fucked to go through all the X2 and other 1/2 but those 3 changes would be great towards balance already

No. The problem is shitty pokemon. If every [type you think is bad] was a 550bst, good moveset, good abilities no one would complain about it.

I don't usually participate in these threads cuz the average IQ of Pokemon fans is 85 and they will say the dumbest goddamn shit about Type matchups and I can't stand listening to the sheer stupidity.
Ice should resist Electric however. Not cuz of game balance, but cuz legitimately ice and snow are both extremely poor conductors of electricity. It's really weird that Ice doesn't resist Electric and it's probably just because the fact snow/ice is extremely resistant to electricity just isn't a well known fact

I would think additionally if it is 1/2 in damage taken it should be x2 in damage dealt.
With normal being neutral and everything 1/2 on itself that leaves 16 types for interaction. The problem then is how many should they each interact with? Is 4 enough? (1/4 the remaining) Half? (8) Should they all interact with each other so everything is half against 8 and double against the other 8?

Let's use fire as an example for convenience I am just going to go right down the list, these are not the matchups I would choose
Left is damage dealt, right is damage taken
Normal N,N
Fire 1/2, 1/2
Water 1/2, X2
Electric 1/2, x2
Grass x2, 1/2
Ice x2, 1/2
Fighting 1/2, x2
Poison 1/2, x2
Ground x2, 1/2
Flying x2, 1/2
Psychic 1/2
Bug 1/2, x2
Rock x2, 1/2
Ghost x2, 1/2
Dragon 1/2, x2
Dark x2, 1/2
Steel 1/2, x2
Fairy x2, 1/2
So now every type is done because the numbers would just be swapped on each one
I'll remain on team poison-should-SE-water until they decide to do it, or I die; whichever comes first. >>58081283 (OP)
Looking at the chart, Poison only having two trumps versus water only having two checks makes the proposal that much more reasonable. Electric and Ghost types don't have nearly as many problems.
vpcai went down and out just when CAI dropped a model specifically for role-playing. Talk about bad timing!
Dragon was fine in gen 4 until everyone started spamming draco and outrage on every dragon they could get their hands on. The overpowered moves with high power and accuracy with no downsides were the problem, not the type itself. >"B-But the BSTs!"
Then Game Freak should have made more non-dragon pseudos like Tyranitar and Metagross. We don't need a 600 BST dragon every generation.
