I love when TPCI break fans' perception of what pokemon "should" be, actually. Too many people want stagnation and will take 100 variants of the same archetype before accepting something actually different, because "it doesn't look like Pokemon!" I think a knight pokemon with swords for hands is cooler than 100 variants of rodents, cats and dogs.

Sure, but don’t pretend like the concept is new. You’re trying to make a point about stagnation and you’re using a shit example for it. The exploding armor one would be been better but we even already have a Fire-type with arm cannons.

The point is that people think that having a actual knight is "breaking immersion" or "not like Pokemon" when I rather GF or whatever make more creatures like that then repeating the same animal tropes every gen. I'm not saying that it needs to be absolutely new and never done before.
