I really hate how the TM orb is locked behind a battle that only gives one other orb type. Either have the fight give all orb types, or change it entirely so you get a TM from starting a semester, beating the midterm, and beating the finals.

Mostly offensively oriented (this time the academy pair clearly has a dps coded kit despite the tempting Growl disrupt only and team sync building passives) with also HP and defense tiles for bare bulk. So Offense Studies (last title non needed), Liquidation (Defense Destroyer can also be skipped), EQ (this one can also be used just for the partial Attack stats and until maybe Attack Trap tile, rest is redundant to me. Then you pretty much for both vertical brenches, prioritizing sync multipliers and rain, the circles are optional if you are lucky with the orbs.
If you can't afford more EQ's branch Attack tiles and think you have something else that applies reliable interference on team, Growl could be an option too.

I can see his sync is quite powerful even in the 400ish attack without the extra buffs bringing his attack base stat to 600ish range but at same time Durable 9 offers up to 3 Endurance effects for harder content that has inevitable post sync AOE coded in its battle like Water Tower. I might switch to it from the EQ's Attack nodes thinking again, seems cheaper too.
Pic rels of course can always drop Defense Destroyer 9 and Circle Extension is you miss some orbs as they aren't crucial as you take advantagw of Aggravation Waterfall to steal turns and sync as much as you can for damage.

For him and Adaman and Irida (now that they're old too) they should do a 10K select for them every year or half year since they're all Lodge units. Then they can add Kieran in a few years since there's 0% chance he isn't getting into Lodge eventually too. I'm not ungrateful that they did it at all for SS Johto trio but there's not really anything new for them at this time, since they didn't grid expansions.

It is if you want the perfect grid with a good run, but a x2 + x1.3 team already allows you to obtain an optimal grid but as above you still need a good run.
Double x2 makes it less of an issue missing some few crucial tiles with passives for shit like 5 or 15 orbs deficit.

Definitely, having 80-100 less atk definitely impacts your ceiling but if you die in 1/3 of the moves or with one sync (which is what will happen in every non baby mode stage) you'll never get to actually use the pair.
Having 5-600 hp but 80 defences puts you on same kind of bulk as eggmons/Naomi, which says a lot.

Having 120-140 defences and 650~ hp makes your academy pair less likely to just die the moment a breeze hits him. The only case where I dropped some bulk for offence was on Rosa because her giga drain having +80/90 spatk instead of +25 defs and +60 hp means she gets a lot more recovery and better sync damage, but I'd attune offences only when you have 5-6 bulk tiles left to fill at most

When you plan your run hoping for Blue take it as a given you will have guaranteed 700 blue orbs, 700 red orbs, 700 green orbs and 400 yellow orbs from Blue + Bruno alone, it makes planning easier but the RNG is still a harsh factor, when I did my past runs with at least one x2 bonus pair getting S+ rank was very common, without you struggle a little more and usually stop at S rank.

Blue appears only from 7 to 11, so if you have bad runs that Blue won't fix you can stop at 10th interaction, else hope to see him on 11th one.

Memorize Bertha's yellow orbs reward to sum with Blue's 400 as a given.
Always reset the first layout to encounter Kukui, usually for a yellow, red or blue orb bonus.
You can get an idea of your multiplier bonus but writing down how many orbs you get out from those common base 40-45-60 base reward battles.

Write down or make a screen of your build with the required orbs for it and set a range of ideal orbs quantity, for example a good run can be such even if you will miss one or two redundant passives that can be a fair sacrifice, or like one or two bulk stats tiles on each lower branch. Red battle is advised because it has a high base reward for yellow orbs too.

It's not a tier list, it's Sync Pair usage of anons who cleared Champion Stadium on Master Mode with max points. Every reset, anons post their charts with what they used for each fight to beat it, and chart anon counts the pairs and post the chart every week. He also keeps count of them per year and month, the one you replied to being for the month of July.
