tbdesu given I don't think GImmighoul was ever in consideration for going to Liko given she JUST got Charcadet, I prefer Dot getting it to Roy. Sure it doubles up on Steels for her, but Roy both already has a Steel type and is primed to get a Ghost type in Skeledirge, so it would've been double redundant for him. Plus, Dot's clearly established a theme of Pokemon with stronger, more exaggerated personalities that contrast her more reserved one, so a Gholdengo who's very outgoing and friendly even to total strangers continues the theme.

Haven't thought about it that far with Dot in consideration. Gholdengo's evolution from a more narrrow-minded obsession as a Gimmighoul to an outspoken and supportive figure as a Gholdengo's would've underlined Roy's transition across the different chapters nicely.

Not a bad suggestion. I call it a 8/10 choice for the thematic aspects of Roy and Croc with a good mix-up in presentation. But there is also Ludicolo as a possibility. Grass/Water which has no overlap, adds on movement on top of the rhythm, is on the more underrated scale. But aesthetic-wise it's lower than Seismitoad which is a 10/10 design

Kricketune is also an option but eh.

Who the fuck will jail Spinel? On what grounds? Dude's a charming, good-looking CEO in charge of a reputable company that just launched a gimmick that gives loser trainers easy way to win. The company has a bunch of crazy fanboys and fangirls defending them, which is the ultimate shield from any criticism, even IRL you have morons defending giant corporations and trying to shield them from any criticism.

The beta version of Strong Sphere has side-effects, but also we know it's currently being tested and Spinel can just say it's a "work in progress" and explain away any issues that arise by claiming "oops we're still perfecting it". Not to mention most loser trainers are desperate enough to keep using the Sphere despite the side-effects.

Like they could send someone to investigate one of Exceed's factories, but that's such an obvious move that Spinel has likely prepared for in advance.

The notion that someone could just arrest and jail Spinel is pretty laughable. Dude has the public behind him and there's no actual footage of him doing anything bad. People can speak up against him, but with no concrete evidence of him/Explorers being criminals, nothing will change.
