The Safari Zone question brings up a good point; why integrate all of the Pokémon that both the Rom Hack and Essential packs all other the region when you can limit the regional ecosystem to 400, while the rest can be caught in a safari that cycles through the remaining 600+ every day (excluding legendaries, paradoxes, mythicals, and ultra beasts)?

Nice designs overall.
Stage 1 should be smaller and more baby-ish, like maybe just the head with a smiling face and a very small amount of cloud beneath (like Castform and his chesticles).
Stage 3 should be a lot bigger and more detailed than that. Make the "body" of the cloud a bit darker and the top of the cloud more wide+flat so it looks more like a cumulonimbus, make it larger/more voluminous. Lightning could also be a little sharper/less squiggly.

Unbound is probably the highest rated hack on average, it's so feature-complete, well done and polished that some people say it's a bad idea to play it as your first hack, as it'll make the rest look bad in comparison. Of course no hack will be liked by everybody, some people will complain about story beats and boss gimmicks which can be valid criticisms too.

A very different spin on the Pokemon formula, turning the game into a roguelike. Procedurally generated routes and bosses, whenever you complete or wipe out of a run you can unlock more utility in the hub, unlock Pokemon and items to use in future runs, and one of the few hacks that has all currents mons available. It's a nice change of pace if that's what you're looking for, and only a surface-level explanation on my part.

This reminds me, the Safari Zone is a pain in my ass and has made me consider switching from binary hacking to the decomp of Emerald, because trying to change the Safari Zone step counter is seemingly impossible. I wanted to give it a few more areas in my hack, and triple the step count.

I don't know how to code properly though and I've already done a ton of work in the binary hack so switching to the decomp just sounds like even more of a pain.

They do look plenty wide, for sure, but unless he wore it as a short sleeved coat, it is oddly just long enough to fit her arm length. I see some large cuffs in the t-pose drawing there, making that more bulky could imply the rest of the sleeves being rolled up. Though I think there'd also have to be more bunching and folds in the rest of the sleeves, too? I'm no art guy, obviously, and it won't matter as much when it comes to the sprites.

It’s not that hard to assemble your own tileset, just a bit tedious, but definitely worth it in the long run. Pirate photoshop if you already haven’t and set a 16x16 grid, width of 256 and height of (anything). When aligning tiles just try to get them uniformly in the squares (ie for a 64x64 px grass tile, it should fit perfectly within 4 16x16 squares), for shit that doesn’t fit like big buildings, the grids are a bit complicated but there’s tutorials out there, generally you just want to have the door of the building centered with a single grid square so that it lines up with how the player moves

Have you tried Pokemon Odyssey? They're not exactly fakemons, but there's some that are close.
There's the new Royal Sapphire that came out yesterday, which is apparently an overhaul of Sapphire with newer Pokemon for starters.
While not fakemons either, I feel like I'd be remiss to not mention Mega Moemon Fire Red and Moemon Star Emerald; maybe the different designs and altered maps will help with the desire for novelty.
