Great choices. No one ever expected 2 of the same region which makes future legend games harder to guess. Also these starters are the most unpopular so giving them megas will make them stronger and more beloved/ viable in competitive. I never picked Chikorita as starter before so I will choose her as mine for the first time ever in my game

Totodile wasn't unpopular, especially when compared to Chikarita. His problem was he just statistically sucks compared to most other water types.

There’s no reason we needed two of the same reason, and wtf even is tepig sojng here? Not saying even any of them are bad, but it’s arguable that having 3 very different mons from different regions would have been better

Awful. There is only one real option here, and it's Tepig, who still has to be boxed less than an hour into your playthrough.

At least it's Kalos, so hopefully I'll be able to get a Chespin and a Fennekin somewhere, but I won't hold my breath.

Said it before, but it's just stupid to put two of one gen and one of another, especially since the the theming over the years has changed so much; two gen 2s are just "ambiguous monsters" and Tepig evolves into a Chinese warlord-pig.
I mean it's weird for more reasons than that, but whatever.
Don't really care though, gen 8 slaughtered my interest in the franchise and I'm only here to find out about what the new megas will look like and if GF will decide to keep the mechanic around for future gens (they wont).
If the "leak" is true (it probably is), then I'm not too interested in the new megas anyway

It'll be straight up crucifixion + whipping if Pokefag attitude is anything to go by. Wouldn't be surprised if there was also a #FuckChikorita hashtag as well and outcry over Flygon not getting a Mega Evolution instead because Pokefag outrage shouldn't be underestimated.

They skipped out on Snivy, Litten, and Popplio for this assuming all Legends starters are coming from those three generations. I guess it makes sense though. The PLA starters are less popular than those three and need buffs a lot more than them. If any one of them made it in, everyone would be picking them.

Totodile and Tepig are too obviously a crocodile and a pig, so I prefer Chikorita's weird ass.
unfortunately it's evolutions are a little boring to me. Not a big fan of any of those three at the end of the day.
