i don't like zera because it's too inconsistent. it's just not as strong going first as pichu silvally is. you also really don't need zera for anything since it's not particularly strong, it's only there to soften the handicap of going first which pichu just does better.
and if you're going second and forced to lead pichu you can still draw into null and retreat pichu for free, whereas with zera in the same situation you have no chance to poke with null since it doesn't get the energy until end of turn.

I have only used them on one event to get the poison Ekans cause for whatever reason it was not giving that to me and I really wanted to try it in my poison deck (it was shit). You can save them for use whenever, though I can understand why you'd be conditioned to think otherwise given how pack points are fucking retarded in how they segment them. The event hourglasses can be used whenever, and you don't lose your points for losing an event match so you inevitably just end up with a stockpile of them. Until we get an event where there are like 10 promo cards that are all good and 1 day to redeem them all, there's like no reason to really care about using a few. But the best play is probably just waiting out until the final day before blowing any of them just cause you'll most likely get everything from the free dailies by then.

How are you having trouble with wonder hourglasses? I have over 900 and will spend on every 2* I see regardless of stamina. The only exception was the ugly planeta nosepass I already owned. I'll grab meta cards I want as well. Maybe I don't struggle because I was never in a wp discord and havent paid for godpacks?
