Coin toss is probably the easiest way to get a KO while maintaining a single prize board in the mirror. Scyther requires the grass to not be prized and Scizor can't be searched out of the deck.

gholdengo is easy but it's quite an unconventional deck. i'd recommended signing up to tcg live, they give you a bunch of great starter decks including a charizard one. charizard is a pretty "traditional" deck imo

Gholdengo usually doesn't play ultra ball for Scizor.
Putting Genesect in play to search for Scizor in the mirror is risky because you need 2 metal energy and either turo to scoop genesect immediately or a gust to ko another 1-prizer with scizor the next turn for your 1-1-2-2 prize map, because obviously the opposing Gholdengo will gust and ko your Genesect to get onto a 2-2-2 prize map.

What decks are you guys having fun with right now? Outside of the big meta decks, which decks are you guys playing that you've seen some success with?

To make a long story short, I played a little bit here and there pre-rotation and coming back wanting to play more now I'm not too sure what to play. For the most part, I basically only played Dialga VStar. I did dabble with some other archetypes, but I had the most fun trying to figure out how to navigate different matchups with Dialga. Ceruledge seems like it might be kind of close to that playstyle, but I'm definitely open to trying out some new styles of play.

not sure how anyone thought Garde would have a free road to finals when Gholdengo is so broken. As long as you get a poffin turn 1, you can draw 6 cards per turn just through Ghold, you have Genesect to always hit your dengos, you can always one shot everything, and your deck is so astronomically consistent you can get Iono'd to 1 and play 4 bosses and still hit everything you need every single turn. Gardevoir statistically loses hard just through consistency alone.

none of those need bandaid fixes anon. any system changes just leave cards like that irrelevant or useless. a lot of mons died when they couldn't attack going first anymore. lillie supporter as well which was key for going first.
hell they can even keep the wording as prize cards and have the prize "points" be numbered cards. it keeps the board layout the same as well giving your opponent a visual on how many are left
