it was long overdue but it's finally happening and it's no coincidence they are also releasing an official competitive turn-based game that connects directly to home (and will likely have seasonal championships depending on the games' release schedules)
it's also releasing in 2026, which is when they'll likely release a new generation or some other test game (or maybe this is their big release for 2026)
it's already bothering some people since they are so used to sitting their fat lazy asses down pressing a button or two, but now they have to actually put effort into battling
now, the games will demand skill
you have to time your attacks
you have to time your dodges
you have to time certain moves like protect or double team
you have to get better at positioning
you have to think of the cooldowns
you have to think of effect durations
it's gonna completely change pokemon in a good way
no more stalling or other pathetic "strategies"
now the battles are actually interesting and fun
even if they remove competitive completely from the main series games, it won't be an issue since players can simply have the traditional turn-based slop in the mobileshit "game"
they can implement different multiplayer in the main games, like the ones that already exist such as co-op raids but with real-time 4v1
