Dead franchise.
Gens 8 and 9 sucked the interest out of me, so now the only Pokemon I play are Infinite Fusion and some of the older gens (currently gen 7).
Far as I can tell, a ton of other people had the same reaction to the Switch games, minus PLA for some.
It really does seem like the franchise moved from being enjoyed by Pokefags who play the games, shiny hunt, catch living dexes and so on, to being bought almost exclusively by the people who buy Pokemon because "it's Pokemon" and they'll stop at about 30% of the way through the game to then focus on buying tons of merch of the new gen.
Or they'll give the game and an entire overpriced Pokemon wardrobe to their kid, who then plays the first hour and that's it before going back to Roblox.
Everyone who gives a fuck about the franchise is off playing fangames, making porn, playing romhacks, watching porn, playing the old gens, playing some kind of randomizer, or roleplaying fart porn with a Meowscarada bot on Character AI.
TL;DR: low interest in the franchise means low user/mod activity on /vp/.
Low activity = fewer reports = fewer mods to give a shit what happens on the board.
