Ackshually. In Digimon, Mega is exclusively used in the English dub, while in Japan, it's called Ultimate. Both Pokémon and Digimon are Japanese franchises, so your point and that picture are incorrect.

I’m still seething over Charizard / Blastoise / Venusaur.
Me and my friends were theorizing how 3-way free for all battles work when they announced it, considering optimal strategy knowing your opponents.
Given protect is hands down the best move in the game in this scenario, Leech Seed gets insane value, meaning the the short conclusion we came up with was Venusaur win. Charizard is essentially put in a king-maker situation; it can’t win, but it could stop Venusaur from winning if it wants.
Then they drop “oh, no TMs btw” at the start of the video, which means Blastoise wins by default. Its the only one that learns protect naturally.

The Digimon side only won because they so heavily downplayed and misrepresented the Pokémon side.

There was so much they didn't bring up. Red and Charizard had so many options that would have let them win. What a wasted matchup, if only they did this properly. Imagine if the Digimon side had lost that fight, I wonder what the reaction would have been like.
