If you get a pack that is all duplicates, you should get bonus pack points for it. Scaled with the highest rarity of those cards.

The pack point shit really is an issue huh? Like its borderline impossible to reach a “spark” unless you whale $100+ and ONLY open a pack for around a month. Most of my points are all stuck around 600-800 for each pack, ive only been able to reach 1250 rarely.

It's understandable they don't want to give out FA trainers so easily, but when you're trying to get specific 3 or 4-diamond cards, you're better off just opening packs than you are saving up points.

I've been having a lot of fun with this Dragonite ex deck.
Obviously requires Pichu in the 1 slot and dratini in back. However, even on hands where I have had pokemon in the wrong order and had a sub-optimal start, it can correct rather quickly due to pichu's energy ramping and the fact that pichu will usually survive at least one turn in most matches.

It's decently consistent as a result. Sabrina is really only there to stall early game if I need to disrupt the opponent's energy flow, since Dragonite's 180dmg is so large that I will almost never need to swap out opponent's pokemon to secure the win. Lyra into Pichu swap is busted with Dragonite, kek.

You win if you can get two attacks off with dragonite, and this happens more often than you think.

I'm open to suggestions, though. Maybe I don't need the tools. And it does lose to the dancing yellow bird. But fuck it, we ball.

Make them universal. In the grand scheme of things it's not even three full arts a year. (365×2×5 = 3650 points = 2.9 cards at 1250 cost)
People are NOT going to stop spending because of that, on the contrary, you're probably more likely to buy the premium pass because that's a guaranteed 2* (1825 extra points). It also gives you something to look forward to, KNOWING you'll be able to hit it without having to skip sets.

I did the math, with the pay pig subscription and playing the game sonce day 1 i have 2680 pack points rotting away split across different sets. I was thinking hmm maybe making the points universal would hurt the games revenue, fuck no. An extra pack and all i would get is like, 2 extra rainbow cards or ONE more crown rare. I’ve managed to save up 1250 points for 4 packs because i like trainer full arts, but even then sometimes my pack points just end up being a waste.

Best I've seen is paired with Darkrai EX so it can soak up those energies you're charging all match. I've also personally had a lot of fun with the new Absol since so many babies/Sylveons like jumping into the backline and they're just free points for the taking. Been using it in my Crobat EX deck and people never seem to prepare for "I can 30 damage your bench" which is surprising considering Greninja is still used. But I guess 20 damage isn't enough to pressure as hard.

Espeon and Sylveon are the new op dogs. You can get some decent milage with electric decks, since Pichu + Zera + Elemental Switch make Electric ramp fast and pivot hard. Crowbat EX isn't bad either but perhaps a bit less consistent than most people would like; personally it's my favorite of the current meta. The surprise pain in the ass is Ho-oh x Snorlax EX which from my personal experience is hard to run but fucking annoying to play against.

Knowing which card you're going to draw next turn with Porygon is pretty good, especially since you can just reroll it with a Pokeball.

Yea, they're trying with Silver/Dark Pendant but it's really not enough. The main issue is that most of the hand punishing tools can only be applied on your turn. So you end up with a setup like this

We need like a fucking trap effect or something that limits a hand to 5 cards while a mon is active. Feels like an ability that a Ghost Pokemon would have given their archetype seems to be centered around disabling opponents.

My trick is, I turn my phone upside down and shake it a few times like I'm mixing drinks. Then I plug it in for exactly 10 seconds (no more, no less) and rip the pack open, removing my charger while the rip animation happens.

It's tricky, but when you get it, you'll always get at least 1 extremely rare card in the pack. And in the case of promo boosters, it means you'll always get the highest tier. I've also seen online that throwing your phone under a moving truck during the opening animation works too, but I don't own a truck and rarely see them.

Ho-oh is strong as fuck. People were once again sleeping on it. Its ability to shuffle itself around because of its staggering energy generation is excellent. You can just keep switching/swapping/Lyra your cards around without worry since everything has a full stack of energy. Sure, you could get Cyrus'd but that's a worry for literally every deck. Ho-oh with strong colorless types + Ilima + Lyra is going to be strong.
Ideally you start with big colorless basic up front, charge ho-oh in back, Ilima (or Lyra) colorless back to hand for healing, put basic back, attack with ho-oh and re-charge your colorless basic that's now on the bench again. Great way to swing for big hits and heal off damage while constantly retreating/shuffling.
