But people tend to largely overestimate her role in her games when she somehow manages to be more useless than Lance, who at least helps tearing down the Lake of Rage operation, or Steven, who fights Team Magma with you at the Space Center, or Alder, who opposes N.

Please read the game dialogue next time. Every game since Masuda has stepped up has included near every NPC gushing over the existence of Pokemon and their bonds with Pokemon.
