Fanfic/Fan Work Thread
A thread for the creation and discussion of fan fiction and other fanworks - anything that involves a story and/or reading. What've you been reading? What've you been writing? What would you like to see more of?

>Thread question:
Would sapient life on another planet be considered Pokemon? How would an alien civilization react if they found out their species can be imprisoned in a ball?

Say somewhere in the deep wilderness where no human has ever reached, perhaps in some dark uncontacted continent, a large group of a certain pokemon species have achieved a level of population and organization comparable to that of Mesopotamia at the time of the invention of writing, around 5,000 years ago in our history. Assume they've never heard of humans and our culture has not impacted theirs in any way.

Which species do you see as likely to achieve this? How would they treat other pokemon species, or humans if they ever came across any?

An open secret among the most prolific psychic trainers is that the Alakazam evolutionary line are all at human or higher level of intelligence, and are capable of teleporting out of their own Pokeballs. Their trainers aren't sure where they go when they aren't being called upon for battle or companionship, but they are certain it's to wherever their homeland might be - for reasons that humans simply do not know, these Pokemon just seem to LIKE being trained for Pokemon battles.

It's okay because it's balanced out by the Syncitto. Syncitto is like a ditto except it can be any pokemon it wants whenever it wants with any stats it wants and with any held item it wants. Syncitto also has 6 lives and can change setup each time it faints and revives that way you can have an entire pokemon team built in one.
Now you don't have to hunt down pokemon you want or train them for the moves you want or get them the ability you want because Syncitto can do it all.

Syncitto only appear on the special region called Synceo and all the strongest and coolest trainers get summoned to Synceo because Syncarceus(stronger than Arceus btw) got bored. Syncarceus got bored because it defeated Grim without getting hit once and then sweeped all of the Zircan empire too without even fainting a single time.

It would be such an insane leap of logic to assume otherwise. Unless the setting is known for children being replaced with 'something' else only the most paranoid bastard would assume the literal child they spent their life raising was not a child.

Yes but it'd still be extremely obvious something was wrong with the kid. At best your child is a high-functioning autist and at worst a complete nutcase psychopath timebomb. With how lax people seem to be they probably just wouldn't care but still.

the point is that you already know your baby is a fucked up weirdo and would already know something is going on
acting like the isekai reveal (already an extremely retarded concept and easily bypassed by having the 'memories' trickle in as the child grows) is a huge betrayal and that your child was lying to you is stupid because only the most negligent retarded parents wouldn't notice something is wrong with their baby and keep a closer eye on it and notice all of the oddities as they 'grow up'
sure the suspicion wouldn't immediately be 'my wife gave birth to a middle-aged man who died a grisly death' but it wouldn't be such a punch to the gut like the gooktunes in >>58129104 shows

I was giving my own viewpoint of how I'd feel as the father of an isekai child, not giving a character judgement on whoever the people in the pic were.

But thinking on it further, it really would depend on how my relationship with the kid turned out. I fully believe a parent is responsible for having a good relationship with their kid, so if I didn't have a good relationship with them I would assume that it was my fault somehow and feel really guilty. If I then found out that it was because they were never even my child at all I would be furious. Wouldn't be fully logical about it, but no parent can be objective on the subject of their own children. And despite everything I would still consider them my child.

If I had a good relationship with them on the other hand... I guess I would be a little hurt for not being trusted with the truth, but I would still love them as my child.

It's probably already happened, although I wouldn't say it's a more advanced mental illness but rather a reskinned one. Without myth and folklore to fuel a psychopath's fantasies about their baby being the antichrist or a changeling, those psychopaths can now default to their baby being a transmigrator. People who grew up on anime have recently reached that age too, so if it's not happened yet it's going to be happening soon.

This. Just look at how many people now associate lipstick with Cynthia now.
Anyone using Ommi Rings will seen as souless. Anyone using customized gimmick items will be seen as SOUL.
Plus, getting cheap generic ommi-rings also means showing the world you're a shitter unable to get genuine true fancy gimmick items. Meanwhile anyone getting the individual items will be showing the world they're the real deal who actually worked their butt and have the power and luck to make those items their own.
>>58134685
Steven would NEVER use a ommi ring because that means he'd have to separate himself from not one but TWO rare stones. He'd rather die than let his stone autism be unsatisfied.
Lance is a dragonclanfag. And stiff as a board. He'd do shit proper and right.
Leon? Yeah, he'd be a sell-out just like he already is. But it's Leon lmao the biggest fraud in the entire pokeworld this would just make Galar into an even BIGGER laughingstock than they already are.

Ommis are for shitters, sellouts and lame people. Simple as.

Steven would use the omniring, because the company that he is an heir to would assure him that it's just as if not more efficient than the stone, and why would he risk his precious metagrossnite in combat when he can keep it at home?

Lance like the pompous faggot he is would probably want to be perceived as a purist and would stick to the stone. He's happy Dragonite even gets a mega and the tiny shred of relevancy this has granted him in the global stage.

If you played Black Iris values progress and she uses the Omni-ring, if you played White she embraces tradition and rejects it.

Diantha probably keeps the stone because she likes showing off her jewels, but Cynthia is a practical woman, how could she pass up a device capable of pulling off every gimmick at once?

Does Kukui even have anything that mega evolves? Leon is owned by Rose, so he's wearing it. Geeta's definitely wearing it, maybe using it on her Chesnaught.

Red and Blue? Wearing it.

I'd just say they're creations of Terapagos, so if you can justify Terapogos being in a setting in any way, you can justify them. Throwing one onto an antagonist's team just seems to fit if you want them to be a major threat but not have a legendary Pokemon or something. It also depend's on your story's power scaling.

SV's story should have been a rehash of R/S/E, with Tudo and Sada being eco-terrorists trying to modernize/revert the region, maybe as the heads of political movements so they're not outright criminals (outwardly, anyway). We could've gotten divorced couple squabbling kino with Arven caught in the middle. The MC would for whatever reason help their version's professor, and Arven would become the protΓ©gΓ© of the other one, which would lead to a sibling rivalry dynamic between the two. It would take both professor's combined expertise of past and future to stabilize the time machine and save the world, and maybe you could have one of them still die at the end for the added drama and to pull the other one out of their autistic obsession.
Team Star was completely unnecessary and lame.

Richchads are genetically superior and are the born leaders fit to rule our species. I do agree he should've allowed more poorfags to join though, all those temples and palaces for the rulers of the new world weren't going to build themselves

If you'd actually played the game you'd have known that Lysandre was killing all the Flare members too, exactly for that same reason, because their reasons to join Flare made them ugly too. They were just useful idiots for funding.
But no one here or anywhere here plays the games. Just shitpost and parrot what the previous parrot parroted from the previous previous parrot.

OK so who was even going to be alive by the end, just Lysandre and the sciencefags? Did these super geniuses understand that you need fucking people to continue the human species?

>I was giving to charity a lot and the praise made me feel really good! But then the praise became less because people got used to my charity, and that REALLY upset me! How dare these filthy poors not praise me as their savior at every moment? REEEEE I'm going to kill everyone!

What could have fixed this, pussy? Beatings as a child?

Depends on his level of mental illness. Pussy could be a cure, but after the honeymoon phase passes he could go through egomaniac withdrawals. Beatings might have worked, but that assumes he was doing anything worth being beaten for as a child that he could have learned from and that was associated with his egomania.
I think being a pokemon breeder could have saved him. Newborn pokemon are especially loveable, and by being a professional breeder he'd constantly have fresh batches rotating in to appease his ego.

Pokemon solve all problems.

Nothing. He was a vain and foolish person who was in love with a fiction he cooked up in his head, then blamed the world for not matching. All that could have been done was someone preventing him from taking the actions he did.
