i agree. i'm not seeing it. it's not built into the whole line either. though all of these are bad starters. gen 6 and 7 did a great job blending two types into the starters.

I too can cherrypick examples of ghost types not having barely anything to do with ghosts >Drifloon/Drifblim >Spiritomb >Sableye >Giratina >Rotom
>>58128822
Rotom is a ghost that possesses appliances, anon. Its first appearance was even a ring reference. Spiritomb is not a magic rock, it’s a bunch of spirits bound to a magic rock.
>>58128822
you are retarded
spiritomb is a bunch of ghosts in a rock. It is the ghosts, not the fucking prison they're in
rotom is a literal ghost. but it's also electric type so instead of possessing humans it possesses electronic objects

You joke but Drifloon's entire evolutionary line probably draws inspiration from Japanese folklore like tsukumogami where inanimate objects suddenly become living things after 100 years and play tricks on people. Drifloon and Drifblim are literally living balloons that float like ghosts aimlessly through the sky looking to snatch kids up, which checks out with their origins. Also in Japan balloons rising into the sky are sometimes used as metaphors for souls ascending, so the Drifloon line's design is actually really clever and in line with its ghost typing.

Rotom still isn't poltergeist (or a ghost). You can repeat that statement all you want but it doesn't make it true. Thematically it's a computer virus at best, and it's explicitly stated to be shaped like a lightbulb, not a ghost.
Lightbulbs aren't ghostly, anons. Neither are fridges, fans, washing machines, ovens, lawn mowers, pokedexes, PCs, bikes or phones.
>>58129036 >This bizarre Pokémon appears to be a will-o’-the-wisp powered by electricity. Be wary, as Rotom is both smart and mischievous. >A Will-o'-the-wisp is a folklore phenomenon, also known as ignis fatuus, described as a ghostly light seen over bogs and marshes, often leading travelers astray. These lights are attributed to various supernatural entities like fairies, mischievous spirits, or even the souls of the dead.
Try again.

It feeds off souls that it steals too. People don't like it because it has the gall to be original and it doesn't conform to their bumass strict definition of a ghost, but frankly what's more ghostly than a haunted house with possessed furniture?
>>58129175
You're making a false equivalence. There's a difference between something being evocative of an object and something clearly intended to be that object. None of Solrock's dex entries say it's a literal star either whereas Rotom's do. You're effectively making an argument that Solrock is a plant because it absorbs solar energy.

If you own the DLC or bring one in from Home you can, you can actually catch a Lotad really early since you can travel outside Paldea immediately after finishing the tutorial
>>58129253
What goalposts are being moved, retard? You're the one whining about how the dex is wrong and making wild statements that aren't corroborated by the games. Get over your ego.
>>58129327 >Aren't corroborated
It takes five minutes to read through all the dex entries. Pulling headcanons out of your ass isn't helping your argument
>>58129253 >everybody is calling me a retard >clearly they're the wrong ones
Just admit you've never read the pokedex and based you're "not a ghost" statements on appearance only
>>58129519 >you're
Oh, I see how it is. I don't know what localizations you're translating from ESLanon but they're not canon if they're not in English. >But
No. Shut up. You don't get it.
>>58129516 >It takes five minutes to read through all the dex entries
Apparently not considering your toddler ass failed to read them all in the first place.
