At most, we'll see real time battling come back as a half-assed side mechanic that serves to expand upon SV's Let's Go Mode and Indigo Disk's Synchronization, but they're never going to fully replace turn-based battling because it's the most accessible form of gameplay to the absolute lowest common denominator.
