What is the biggest presentation issue of the Pokemon series in 3D? (Besides the obvious bugs and glitches)

Is it the Pokémon’s animations and poses?

Is it the camera being held back by the default “Gameboy” camera angle?

Is it the graphics? (Specifically the environments and pop-in)

Is it the outdated static/robotic NPC movement animations in text cutscenes? (CGI cutscenes are not the same)

Is it the infamous black screen?

Or is it the complete lack of voice acting?

Pick your poison bros, so many to pick from

That’s the least of your worries retard, try again

That’s a developer choice that’ll always be there.
Regardless of rather the games looks half-assed or actually live up to the “highest grossing franchise in the world” title

It’s not like this alone is gonna automatically save the franchise, it’ll still be a shit laughing stock of a franchise to the public (much like Sonic)

Plus it goes as far back as X/Y a decade ago, to coincide with the debut of trainer customization

its Game Freak. They're too busy raping little girls to give a shit abut making makes. Pokefans are so stupid and buckbroken they'll buy it anyway no matter how shitty the games get.

This. Imagine if Pokémon had different animations for things like:
>taking supereffective damage vs resisting attacks
>missing and dodging attacks
>bruises and bandages when at low HP
>posing for victory in battle
I'd also like for them to shout and grunt when using attacks and getting hit. Makes them feel more alive.

Maybe if it were a game that only had 50 Pokemon to worry about, but for games with over 200? Fat fucking chance, kid, GameFreak's looking to maximize profit with quantity, not maximize customer satisfaction with quality.

i like the lack of voice acting, not only is it a huge charm point, adding it would be a huge waste of dev time and a pointless drain on resources to add literally nothing of value to the experience, and they'd absolutely fuck it up by making it forced dub and having the pokémon say their names. shit would be absolutely horrible, never had any idea why anybody would want it unless they were fucking illiterate.
to address your actual question though the biggest issue is absolutely the environments, they look bad visually and i think the actual art of level design has been lost a bit in the transition to open areas, leaving us with huge spaces that have nothing to see and nothing to do. ZA seems to be on track to solve the latter issue at least but it's pretty small scale compared to a full region.

I think the part that makes SV visuals look terrible is that the textures and details look way worse than SwSh just so they could do the open world gimmick. Id rather we go back to linearity if it meant the games looked and played better.

It ain't the voice acting, if anything we need less voice acting in things so bitches actually get in the habit of reading things.

The outdated robotic NPC animations always rubbed me the wrong way since S/M, and even more so since Sw/Sh, so that

It really says a lot where fucking Sonic at its worse had better presentation than this (bugs aside)………….in a vacuum at least

The biggest presentation issue is how everything is held back by not improving from the Game Boy games. There's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and then there's letting it rot when it can be, could've been, and should've been fixed 2 - 3 console generations ago. Thankfully, both Legends games have fixed some of it, but there's still a lot more that needs improvement. There's no excuse when an N64 side game from 2000 has a better presentation than a flagship title from 2022.

The problem isn't so much voice acting itself, which I can take or leave, it's the direction of the cutscenes and how they're done in a way that presents itself like it relies on it, thus looking awkward as a result.
There's also the opposite problem where an auto-play text box goes by so fast before the player has time to fully read it. Either adding voice acting can help pace it better or make it yet another A button press among the hundreds in these dozens of 5-minute cutscenes in every game. Why isn't there a button to skip or a toggle to fast-forward all these cutscenes?
Anonymous No.58138069
>>58138054
There is one since Sw/Sh, the problem is it only affects the few interesting CGI animated cutscenes, making the experience even worse

So that button is useless anyway
