Pokemon is no final fantasy game. You just press A and move on. You wanna do your nuzlock stuff? you can still do it, you just have to be more reactive now if we move into becoming an ARPG series.
Just imagine how cool it would be for terrains and environment to matter. Like imagine the anime series you grew up with, seeing Ash comboing and chaining moves together that have synergy, imagine you can pull this off someday too. Imagine activate commanding your Pokemon to dodge. Trust me, this is hype!!!

millenials ruined it when they trashed black and white for daring to not have zubat, geodude, and pikachu. You can literally see where they tried to appease in bw2 by loading it with old mons and adding more features than ever and only a little into xy's development they gave up because nobody cared.

Why don't people realize how brilliant the current direction with the series is? Champions exists to keep the turn based combat systems alive while the mainline games are free to experiment as they please. I've always said that videogame series reinventing the wheel like this can be really stupid but they've taken out all the risk with Champions.

Did you HONESTLY only ever use previous mons every new game? Did you HONESTLY even use them at all? Every new gen I would use only mons from that new gen up until alolan forms where I made an exception to use alolan muk. Having 156 (realistically, what, 120 new mons you'd actually have access to? 100 minimum) mons to choose from, you STILL wanted to use zubat, geodude, pikachu? Even knowing you could transfer them over like always unlike after dexit? This has always been a bizarre stance, almost indefensible. Why even bother adding new pokemon then if nobody uses them? Gamefreak gave up on that after gen 5 too because of arguments like this. Just such a stupid opinion to hold. I even get it if you don't like a significant amount of unova mons, especially because it kind lf frontloaded a lot of the more controversial designs like woobat, timburr, etc, but that alone is not enough to justify "but I want to specifically run into zubat and geodude instead".

I'd honestly prefer if they drastically cut down on making new Pokémon and forms going forward, instead favoring gameplay and graphical elements.
