pansage and simisage are actually truly great designs. I say this completely unironically. If they had been introduced without the other 2 monkeys everyone would love them. Simisage is easily in my top 30 mons of all time.

I really want gamefreak to try and give them all some new dumb gimmick whether it's a new evolution or a new mega or whatever next gen, they could reference the public's distaste towards them and leverage it to make them more well-liked. I think it would be fun.

They should've gotten overgrow, blaze, and torrent as their main abilities instead of their hidden ones. Would've been more useful in a playthrough.

Brocoli-head would still be considered ugly or at least weird. Pansear is easily the cutest of the little monkeys, so this would be the ideal monkey line unless they made Simisear not ugly and also made Panzap/Simizap to complete the suit of cards theme.

Uh what? Since when do they have that theme? They've always just been 3 cooking monkeys based on see no evil/hear no evil/speak no evil. Where do you get suits for them? And why would a hypthetical fourth monkey be named "zap" when the others have cooking-adjacent naming schemes? I guess I wouldn't mind an electric one in the future if a cooking relation and see/hear/speak relation could be found but you sound like you've just completely missed the point of them...

I had a funny dream where they all got third stages that completed their 'hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil' theme.
Grass/Fire Simisage evo with a Grass type Boomburst that can burn, Fire/Water Simisear evo with Fire type Surf that can lowers opposing Sp. Def and Water/Grass Simipour evo with a Water type Solar Beam that becomes a one turn move in rain.

I love them but they feel purposeless outside of the games they debuted in.

the best way to use them going forward would be to have them spawn in an early town's small grass patch so a kid can catch SE coverage on the gym leader. And also just have them as window dressing. I liked them being in gen 6, actually, honestly.
